it's snowing cold wet and miserable. Yes, V.v., in that order.

We all grieve differently.

Sorry about your loss.

Went looking at some houses with our daughter today in Austin.

The idea of a 1600’ house that is almost 40 years old and listed for $650k is hard for me to swallow.

Just saw a NYTimes headline that states Austin has become one of the least affordable places in America, and that with over 200 new residents a day a housing shortage is looming.

Hmmm, maybe hicks ain’t so bad after all.

This is one reason I laugh every time somebody (who doesn't live in California) says people are fleeing California. If that's true, how come housing only gets more expensive?

"Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded!"

Beating up on the nerds is nothing to brag about, who’s next on the schedule, MIT?

Then call your people home. I'm tired of dealing with them.

ND is surely due to the oil boom. Still, Philly has roughly 2x the population as the entire state of ND. I spent two weeks riding there during two different trips. A lot of empty. In 2016 we did a century one day. Probably saw only 15 moving vehicles until we got to the outskirts of Bismarck, where the day ended.

Probably why only 15 vehicles. All of which were likely senior Hondas. Everyone else will be teleporting.

10 of us rode 80 miles today. I did better than I expected but there was only 2700 feet of climbing and the homies took it easy. It was a nice day, warm with no wind. I was happy to be done and Mrs John made fried rice with the leftover turkey. It really hit the spot.

One of them was datlas’ Saturn.

In the old days I would be leaving the house about now, of a Sunday ride day. I hope to leave the house around 8. Time will tell. I dream of working my way back to an imperial century this winter. Time will tell.

Gonna try out the electric gloves, although at 34F probably not a fair test.

Will they not interfere with the magnetic field produced by your vaccination?
