Christmas present from my 90-year-old mother: mirror gloves

Since threads about mirrors show up here periodically, I thought I would share this. For Christmas my 90-year-old mother gave me a pair of Sharper Image mirror cycling gloves. I usually don't take Sharper Image products very seriously - they often strike me as overpriced solutions in search of first-world problems. Let's say I was skeptical.
Anyhow, I wore them today on what was otherwise a pretty depressing ride (first time on the bike in nearly a month, with a lot of bad diet in between). The mirror feature works surprisingly well, and by slightly rotating your wrist you can visually sweep the road behind.
This picture is from their website.

That's pretty neat

Damn you're lucky. 90 years old, you've had her your whole life. Can't even imagine that, my mom died when I was 11 :(

Those gloves are very cool, though.

I make my own mirror gloves by popping the mirror out of a handlebar mirror and velcro-ing it to the back of my glove or to my Road-ID.

I'll bet the OP's mirror is higher quality than the cheap small ones that I've used which scratch easily.

Would they work with drop bars, and with the different hand positions that are often used?

Thanks, Dick

Marvel should create a new action hero based on them.

I would think the vibration from the bars would really make a clear image difficult. But then, I have never tried one.

Glad to see she is stil thinking of your safety.

Yes, I use them with drop bars.

Reminds me a bit of those upskirt mirrors that pervy guys used to glue to their shoes.

I'd like to think that many of you who have made your own mirror gloves got the idea from me when I posted pics of mine about 15-20 years ago on various groups. I used one of those wide-angle mirrors that you'd normally stick to the bottom of your automobile's sideview mirror and it worked really well.

I have since moved to a bar-end mirror, but I still like the glove idea. Anyone who wants to send me a royalty is more than welcomed to.
