Brooks Sale
PSA - Backcountry.com has the Antique Brown Brooks B17 standard saddle on sale for 85 bucks, not bad!

Thanks for that! I have an older brooks that just ripped at a rivet, so replacement was long overdue. That was my gateway Brooks...
|
That is a good price. It's actually the cheapest I've seen. I thought I was getting a good deal at $119.00 at Chain Reaction.
|
I am a longstanding Brooks Pro rider. How does the B17 differ?
|
The "honey" is $104. Is this a good price? It is the saddle that came on the bike I ride. I understand, now, the love for these saddles.

FWIW, I have no problem with any Brooks, probably have 20 different ones, B17's, Specials, Pro's, Swallow, sprung, old, new, broken in, well broken in, not, etc, ad nauseum. I can ride any and all no matter what with minimal adjustment or break in. Love them all and cannot stomach most C+V without one. :twitchy: |
I just ordered a Brooks Flyer Special (black) for $129 on Amazon, but it doesn't seem to be there anymore on their website. But if you search around for Brooks, it seems like they're on sale all over the place.

As a side question, does anyone use a waterproof saddle cover? I admit to using a plastic grocery bag.

I picked up a Brooks B5N this morning in excellent shape for $20. I guess the bike it's attached to is free.

That's the simplified explanation. |
The leather on the Pro is also thicker (~50%).

2.) Yep, bread-loaf bag w/ 5" slit at the bottom to snug past the seat-post. |

That should look beautiful. $129.00 is a nice price for Brooks. If I don't save a particular Amazon page in my bookmarks, it is often hard to find the item again, even when it is still being offered. |
