Where is that, generally speaking?

I don't think anyone is going to stalk us based on her riding radius... that's Live Oak Loop in Buda. Last summer I posted some pics of just the ostriches; the zebra and goat are new.

I can't believe I missed Paris-Roubaix. I fully intended to get back to the computer, but got caught up in getting some great work done around the house. The whole body is sore. I went up the ladder again, this time to trim the bougainvillea, with no ppe, and came back down lightly bloodied.

I can see pretty well with off the shelf reading glasses, at least well enough for riding. I've been using reading sunglasses on the bike for a few years and they work fine and I only pay about $20. I have some $400 prescription Ray Bans for driving but I don't want to use them on the bike.

Ostriches and emus are seen around here in places. Zebras - not so much.

Rather have a dog chase me than an ostrich. Those beeshes are mean.

I’m not familiar with that area. Nonetheless, I have no plans to stalk either of you. If I tried, you would just drop me and laugh.

A lady in my club is selling a 1970 VW bug. I went by and looked at it yesterday after the ride. It's been sitting for more than 10 years and her son is cleaning it up to sell.
The VW market is hot right now and people are asking crazy money for the older ones, like pre 1968. This one I looked at has potential but it's probably going to need an engine, along with tires, a windshield, interior, and more.
I think I'll stay out of it.

Nothing quite like 50 miles of cold wind in your face. But this was pretty cool.

You're leaving a pretty good wake considering you are on a bicycle.

I wear bifocal wrap around glasses from the safety store. It's amazing how far they've come in clarity, styling, and quality. I think the most that I've ever paid is $20.

Lewes Ferry?? That's only 17 miles though.

In other news, my madone sounds like i’m sitting in an old rocking chair the whole time I am riding it. If that doesn’t do it visually for you, sounds like an old screen door blowing in the wind. A worn out mattress getting used for extracurricular activities. An old warped wooden floor being walked on.

If you don't care what you look like, Cocoons fit nicely over your regular glasses. I now use clip-oms though, because the Cocoons blocked too much air from ventilating my helmet.

I had to drop The Older Boy off at his new job, while Mrs. GeneJockey was doing her bit as head of the Sacristy Team* at church. So I ended up driving to ride instead of riding from home. And I gout out later than I prefer, but still, it was beautiful!

I took the Canyon for its first real ride since January 1st, when I got a gig honkin' piece of glass in the tire. I managed to get rid of the squealing brakes by seriously sanding down the pads, plus I dragged the brake a bit on a couple descents. After that they were working fine. I ended up only doing 48 miles, but it was fun. The Canyon's a fast bike.

Helped out a fellow rider whose TT bike had a flat. He needed tire levers, which I always carry even though I try not to use them. I could tell it wasn't "Larry", because he had his own tube......

I can't tell whether "Shower's Pass" is supposed to refer to a route across a ridge, or a cheering reminder that rain eventually stops.

I’m pretty sure that the one shown is their high-end model. $$$

My wife owns one.

As much as 60 mph. I can’t out run that.

I used Oakley M frames until my vision got bad enough to do something. A friend gave me a pair of the bifocal safety glasses but I need the magnification on the whole lens. I tried the cheap reading glasses on the mountain bike and I could see the trail and rocks, holes, etc. so I ordered sunglasses of the same power (1.75).

That’s actually the view from the right side of the ferry. I believe you call it port. The wind was blowing so hard a small, older woman couldn’t open a front door.
