Cinelli 1R Stem
 

This is a complete Cinelli 1R stem with a few scuffs and gouges. Stamped 105, which I assume indicates that it is about 4" long. Top of clamp shows anodizing worn off a bit, and there are a few gouges up high on the insertion area, but hey, the wedge clamp is there!

How about $40 shipped in the CONUS?

Thanks to merziac for noticing that the top of the wedge thingy is broken off! I hadn't spotted it. One of many learning experiences around here! It seems this stem is not complete, and in this case, no longer for sale.

Is there any chance anyone here has an intact (or partially intact) wedge and an iPhone 12?

I'd like to see if it's possible to make a 3D printed steel replacement, but it's easier to get the measurements right straight off a 3D LiDAR scan.

My personal opinion is the missing part of the clamp doesn't significantly impact the clamping force. Less area, higher overall impinging force for the given force of the wedge.

The issue I have with the design is the lack of distribution of force between the wedge and the clamp. Note the nearly sharp transition from wedge part of the clamp to the clamping backside surface. This transition should have been much more gradual or like a trapazoid configuration. Given the thickness of the clamp and the fact that it is a casting, make me believe the major portion of the clamping force is behind the wedge feature of the clamp.

Having said that, 3/8 bikes in the garage that use quill stems have them.

That's what I was thinking as I mulled this over last night. Either way, I'm not going to use it, so if anyone wants it for what it is, or if I can help with any 3D wizardry, let me know.

BTW, I think I JB welded the one in the picture and am using it.

Download the "Polycam - LiDAR & 3D Scanner" app and see if you can get a clean scan of it. Might help to put it in an alligator clip to stand it up so as to capture it nicely from all sides.

I can probably work with it if you can export the result in an .STL file.

I wouldn't trust that to hold my handlebars! I don't think I'll be able to hold up my end on the tech support, although I read that the scandy app works well with iphone 13s. Hey wait, I don't even like hidden clamps!

Whoops, forgot the base 13 doesn't have LiDAR. Anyone out there with the 13 Pro?

I can model this without a scan (and ultimately have to do so regardless), but it's just a lot easier verifying measurements with a direct scan of the part, rather than a fair number of costly test pieces that might not fit right.
