Jim Blackburn front rack

For sale is a "made in USA" "Jim Blackburn" marked front rack, with single tang to hold it to the fork behind a caliper or centerpull brake if you so desire. It came to me on a 700c Trek of some sort and it isn't cracked. Yours for $55 shipped. Paypal F&F, Venmo, Crypto, USPS money order, or cash. Will discount some amount if local and want to save me the hassle of shipping.

If I've gotten the price way off, please let me know what's actually fair, and why. Sincerely unaware of the market and these racks' nuances.

Very nice. And rarely seen. Much more visually appealing and less cumbersome than the wrap-a-round version in my opinion. If I wasn't happy enough already with my Vetta copy, I'd be biting at this offer.

Hobbiano you are first in line, PM replied to. Maohaus you are second. I will keep you posted!

I did not realize these racks are so popular! I broke a couple Jim Blackburns on tour back in the early '00s when they were affordable, now I feel like I should've sprung for the (then-exotic) Tubus, and put these in a pile as investments..

Sold and shipped to Hobbiano !

Sorry, Maohaus

Thanks for the heads up on that. Anyone else have one of those?

Hmmm, I have a black one, but you probably wouldn't want it. The front struts separated from the platform and are now held together with wire wrapped with electrical tape. But it still works great for commuting, and I actually used it on a week-long lightly-loaded paved/gravel tour earlier this year. It's a nice-looking design, and I'm kind of surprised they don't make them anymore.

Specifically I am looking for a silver version of that rack to match a Blackburn that I have on a Fuji touring v. Thank you for the heads up on this rack but I'll have to pass

I also have a black model it's a "Mountain Rack by Blackburn" which has a solid plate on the top that functions as a sort of abbreviated front fender. Nothing is broken but it is black and made to attach to fork blades with side bosses as well as fork ends with an eyelet.
Anybody who's interested PM me and I will snap some pix (and apologies for this hi-jack)

ALSO in case others happen along: this one is now SOLD
