Adding lights to Yuba mundo with Bafang BBSHD
I'm having a mid drive put on my Yuba Mundo and I want to hook up lights. Also, I don't like charging lights anymore.
Has anyone hookup lights this way? |
Get a buck converter (12v but, usually 8volt) to whatever voltage light you want to run!.....go to light.mall to get Rick bottom prices that's what I did!

I went with a 12V lamp from amazon. It isn't really 12V and will accept anything up to 60V.
I have it wired to a switch on my handle bar, that I fed by the main (motor) battery. All put together, it looks very OEM. |
there are DC versions from Schmidt and B&M to take lighting power off the drive batttery.

I decided not to mess with my mid drive system and get a dynamo hub for the front wheel.

That's like adding an tow hitch to an SUV to preserve the existing space.
It just makes no sense, adds weight, cost and increases the handling characteristics. With 5-12V lamps like the Supernova M99mini, you can power the light with the motor battery or USB powerbank. supernova-lights.com/en/products/e-bike-lights-25kmh/m99-mini-pro-25/ |
