I rode twenty miles into a strong head wind.

Gyro 12-05-23 07:02 PM

Broke my yearly 5000 miles last month. Should hit 5300 if the weather holds out.

Troul 12-06-23 12:13 AM

23 miles in 18*F temps with a constant windspeed of 11mph (headwind otw back) ...

however, there were no flurries, reindeer, or ho ho hos!

SpeedyBlueBiker 12-06-23 12:21 AM

I only rode 22 miles yesterday but today did 31 miles. Still waiting for "winter" to arrive. Out the door at 6:45am both days with temps already at 77F and even higher humidity.

I'm waiting for late Spring to get here. I'm done with late fall {Sat 23rd Sept -Thurs 21st Dec} & don't want to experience ole Winter {Thu 21st Dec - Tue 19th Mar].

Nice. I've been dabbling in CX this year a bit myself. I've been using non-ideal bikes, my 2x gravel bike and an endurance road bike that I put a 1x drivetrain on. I'm seriously thinking about building a dedicated 'cross bike for next season.

CX racing is no joke. I'm fairly competitive in XC mtb racing, but I get my butt handed to me at the CX races.

Same here. 35 minute sprint. I did no warm up so the first lap was painful. I'll do it again with the stripped down Domane. Staying on the pedals smooths it out. It handles well for me. A guy fell on a off camber sharp left up a short steep hill. I was able to cut inside. A few more teeth on the rear would help. May get a cassette just for this and stay out of he big ring. Self imposed 1X.

81 miles in the 45F heatwave.

jaxgtr 12-08-23 03:49 PM

no miles this week. Had hand surgery today, nothing major, but did a lot of OT as I will be out all next week for recovery, so did 2 miles a day walking the dog. I think he is over it.

Troul 12-09-23 10:48 AM

1/4 the time out, the headwinds went from ugh to wtf & brought in the moiiistness. The wet got even worserz all the way thru to the return. Was glad that the former headwinds was still active, just that it slowed down to about half the mph.... figures it'd turn out like that. At least the temps stayed within 41F & 49F the whole time. A dry 41F with no winds would have been perceptively warmer.
62 miles.

rsbob 12-09-23 11:21 AM

30 fake miles with 3,000 climbing. 🧗‍♂️. <- Not that type. Thank you Netflix

jaxgtr 12-10-23 12:16 AM

I had forgotten I had a set of aerobar not being used in the garage, so I rigged the things up on my smart bike and adjusted the buttons to have all the shifting control from my right hand. Man I love this thing. I got in 30 easy flat miles. Aerobars worked pretty good and no pain on my left hand. :thumb:. I also replaced the bar tape on the smart bike and moved the buttons on the drops to a better position to make it a little easier for my wife to use them. Wrapping bar tape with a heavily bandage hand was a little awkward, but it came out pretty good.

51 breezy miles

Sierra_rider 12-12-23 07:40 PM

58 miles w/7200' of gain. The kid I rode with turned it into a total hammerfest. At the risk of sounding like bragging DB, I set a bunch of Strava segment PRs, several top 10s, and my best 10 second power ever(1200 watts.) I was totally cooked by the end of the ride and now hurt all over.

Bleu 12-12-23 11:19 PM

31 miles ,Evansville Indiana, traffic was awful and Meijer did not have what I needed. At least it was above freezing.

been sick as a dog for the last 3 days... lots of sleep, my wife works from home as well and her work setup is in the bedroom, so she woke me up and told me to go to the couch as she had a meeting, that's love right there. I got in a whopping 2.6 miles inside today when I decided I was not feeling it. Will try again tomorrow and try and get about 10 easy miles in just to get the legs moving.

I hope you feel better soon. Getting fresh air (and sun) is always good, even if for a short time.

I did about 20 miles today. Weather was unseasonably good.

Thanks, yea I did get outside today, took the dog out and got the trash bin before it blew down the street. No sun as we are having a nasty Noreaster storm, and it started to rain, heavy cold winds out of the east off the ocean. Supposed to have a good amount of rain for the next 3 days.

SpeedyBlueBiker 12-15-23 06:44 AM

Got out Friday morning for 33 miles and back home by 9:00am. Started out it was 78F and when I returned at 9:00am it was already up to 85F.

How fer did I ride. Fer enough. Fer enough?

cegerer 12-15-23 04:32 PM

Did about 25 miles today. First road bike ride in nearly 3 weeks. I've been riding gravel and trails the last 3 weeks. So getting on the Tarmac Pro this morning was like riding a feather! :D
