Yep. My wife and I have been talking for a week or so about setting the trainers up again. The weather forecast for the next week has made me decide to set things up again.

I saw a movie recently(don't remember the name of it) where the car did just that. On the second try though, it blew up. Denzel Washington and Julia Roberts

My ride on Sunday was ~25° and windy, today's was still windy, almost 10 degrees warmer, but somehow more miserable. I did re-up on Zwift for one more month, but I'm having a hard time getting back on the trainer after a taste of freedom.

Oh, I stopped off at my LBS for some brake pads and saw a this wonderful stack of bikes. Which one has bampilot06's name on it?

Also saw a sweet cruiser by a local builder that usually does more road/gravel -

I think that's in the background.

There's a cabinet and bare bike frame hanging in the background, if that's what you're talking about.

LAJ 03-29-22 11:04 AM

It lines up nicely.

I could live with the one on the top.

I put my Propel on the trainer this morning but just sat looking at it in despair. I'm going to bundle up and go out in a few minutes and fight the 20 mph wind.

New replacement battery's suck. Cheap chinessium garbage. 4 years out of the 2 I put in the Camaro, 3 out of the one in the firebird. Avalanche got a new one last year, 2nd tier $190.00. I got light headed from that one.

The one on the bottom is the Rapha Edition. I think that it's an Echo as well, but I could be wrong.

Edit: looks like I was wrong - it's an Able.

You are a bigger man than I am. No way , no how buster! It's colder than frig out there and windy too. In the words of our dearly departed Pope." Mother nature can bite me".

I really want to get the 09 Tarmac out and test out the new shifter/gear combination..... just not bad enough to freeze.

Lol. I didn't even notice the raised chainstay on the Rapha, not in person and not in the photo, until now.

The Echo is a sharp looking bike. bampilot06 should grab one

My experience is 3 to 5 years with most coming in around 3 to 4. Environmental loads may have a different impact for all I know. I know our HVAC systems in the cars are one all the time and we don't have much weather to enjoy driving with the windows open.

Mojo31 03-29-22 01:14 PM

Can't afford one right now, but I'd rock an Echo.

LesterOfPuppets 03-29-22 01:16 PM

I usually get the cheep batteries, and get 4 years out of them these days. Somewhere along the line prices doubled and lifespans halved
