Which chain ring?

IS there a 44t chain ring available that's compatible with sram apex 1x (4 bolts)?

I can't find one, but maybe i'm missing something. The bike i'm interested in comes with 40 t, but i might want a bigger chain ring for flats. It has an 11 speed cassette.

Unless you have a rather light, skinny tired bike, 40-11 may be more than you can spin unless screaming down hill.
Have you practiced a few panic stops when screaming down hill?

There seems to be a number of them on Google, including REI. Maybe I’m missing something.

A 44/11 is a 4:1 ratio. Even entry level 80’s road bikes ran 52/13. Not much of a feat to spin them to 30mph.

100 rpm in a 4:1 ration (105 gear inches) is about 31 mph. Maybe the OP is actually a pro racer who wants to be able to intimidate roadies while passing them on a hybrid.

Even if he wants to tool around at 20mg with a cadence in the 60’s, it doesn’t matter. 4:1 was a common top ratio for a lot of years for non-racers.

I think early XTR was 48-38-28 with a 12-28/32. Not that is a tough one even on a 26er.

On an off topic side note the RD-M900/910 has a capacity of 33t. The math doesn’t get there, but I’ve run 38t on mine so it is ultra conservative.
