It's warmed up to a balmy 56F . Time to pack my sweatshirt and go spend a contemplative afternoon mowing the lawn.

The place will be closed for at least three more weeks. Almost no one sees Velo Vol's handiwork except the 1/3 of the lawn along the road. So it goes.

Best frites ever. Garlic mayo.

Never underestimate the recuperative power of tartar sauce. It has saved me on a few rides.

Big storm heading this way. I am askeered there will be a power failure at our corporate office, which happens sometimes, and takes our Electronic Medical Records system down. I hope it hold off until today's telemedicine visits are done. It may be close.

61° heading for 64° today :bday:

Very windy, though. I feel like this spring has been especially windy, but maybe not.

Just watched both my rides to work say F this and fly back to where they came from. Windy as hell in Norfolk right now.

Sunshiny and headed for 70* in MN. Take that, Velo Vol.

Just riffing off the Lori Loughlin/USC thing.

The thing I don't get is, if you have a half-mill just lying around, can't you just use that to make sure your offspring have a legit shot at a good life? Legally, I mean, like a trust fund or excellent tutoring and training or... almost literally whatever.

I decided that there was no time like the present and decided to try out a homefries (breakfast variety) recipe. For a first attempt, they turned out pretty well. Next time I'll cook the inside a little more and the outside a little less, but that'll be the only tweaks.

With the homefries cooking and the sun shining, I decided to make breakfast for lunch and eat outside with the kids. Perfect.

that requires effort, and time, and spawn that want to participate.

I can’t sleep when it’s 104* out, I’m wide awake hollering “WTF, man”!?!?

I guess I know that, but it still seems surreal. And if the kids don't want to participate, what will USC or any school do?

Right, prestige. It's just such an alien set of priorities.

What kind of chainring mileage do y'all get? I feel like my teeth are getting a little thin and I'm occasionally experiencing a skip, but I only (?) have 10-12k on the ring. Is that unusual?

Must be all the watts. I’ve never (knowingly) gotten close to wearing out a chainring, and while I don’t have a mileage count, but trainer hours have to be harder. I seem to recall hearing several times that being the common lifespan though.

The school provides background for their instagram posts.

I make pseudo fries for my kids with thin sliced mini potatoes, avocado oil, garlic and rosemary baked at 475 for about 25 minutes. I don’t usually eat them, but they’re pretty good and the prep time is minimal

IKR?

I've never legit worn out a component. Not even a tire.

Broken, yes.

Damaged, yes.

Replaced for something different, yes.

Worn out, from new, through normal use, no.

Every couple of years, providing I remember. It's usually near there, and mainly the large ring. That's the one that gets the most abuse, what with 53-11 seated starts and crap like that.
