Do any of you guys/gals use HRV to help determine fatigue?

I haven't played with my HRV app enough to get a meaningful baseline and, from what I understand, many HRMs aren't really suitable for the task.

Did you ever get a realistic FTP entered in to Intervals? I mean, you should listen to what your body is saying, but the tracking of training load is one of my primary uses of that site. According to your Fitness chart, you're at a fairly high volume, but your Form was at -22% yesterday, and -8%, which wouldn't be at all concerning from an overtraining perspective.

As an aside, do you foam roll? My legs used to keep me up at night, when at high training volume, but adding rolling to my post-ride routine pretty much provided immediate relief in that regard.

I have not updated my FTP on intervals, but I would imagine itís close. I think I have it set to 230 and intervals has it estimated at 237. I should prolly raise it to 240.

I donít foam roll as often as I should and when I do I probably donít do it long enough. I go up and down each leg about 10 times front and back. Not fast but not super slow either.

I still have not been able to figure out how to change my ftp on my garmin head unit. It is set at 200 and even through the app I cannot figure out how to change that.

Stupid question, but when I finish a ride and save it on my garmin head unit it always shows a recovery period. Sometimes itís 50 hours sometimes it as high as 72 hours, is that trying to tell me to take 72 hours off? Seems a little extreme.

Supposed to be doing sprint work tomorrow plus hill work, wanted my legs to feel a little better before then.

My coach had mentioned HRV and recommended an app, but itís something else to pay for. I tried some free ones but I donít think I have a good tool for measuring it. Apple fitness has HRV recorded from my apple watch but I donít know how accurate it is.

Not sure how to manually change your FTP on the Garmin, but (like Intervals) it'll track your efforts and suggest a new FTP figure when warranted. Changing your FTP on your Garmin isn't going to have any impact on your data on Intervals, though - Garmin is tracking your load, too, but I've never even looked at what they're doing... maybe I should. But yeah, the recovery suggesting by Garmin at the end of a ride seems excessive to me, too.

If you've got a big boy day tomorrow, sure, take the day off or just do some light work, like an actual, boring recovery ride.

I donít see it, been messing with it for the last 30 mins.

Itís not all that important, I donít use the garmin for data, I use intervals, however when I am riding I the power zones up and would like to accurately know which zone I am in while I am riding. I imagine the zones on the head unit are based on the FTP the garmin has stored.

Look under "device settings" under the devices listed on the main page.

Menu > Garmin Devices > Select device > User Settings > Power Zones > click on Cycling Zones and you are there.

Being trapped in a frozen hellscape for months drives people to do bizarre things. Sad.

Either I'm really lazy, or one of your settings is way, way off. I've never had more than a 26 hour recovery recommended.

Yep. I'm getting my trike out this afternoon because of the snow pack in areas and hopefully, I won't fall down. Last snowfall, I rolled it so it doesn't always work.
