Same, assuming we're talking the TLE version.

28mm TLE version here. On 23mm internal width rims they measure 30.5mm after a few weeks of use.

40k tt this Saturday. It'll be 97, no shade, and that'll be a long 55-60 minutes without water. I am trying 5000's with latex, and I hope they work.

I’m curious to hear how you do! You’ll be running a fresh pair of tires, correct?

TLE is an accurate name. Mine went on without levers, and inflated with a floor pump.

95F on the lawn today.
I was thinking how in winter we have five straight days of clouds (how does water even evaporate when it's 40F?). But when Velo Vol is mowing in July, the sun goes into cook mode and we don't have a cloud to cover it for hours. I don't get it. |

Unless you're just low speed cruising a boot should be a temporary thing. The tire is compromised.

96° \72% This is part of the reason I was struggling with the weed eater. I'll post some pics of the tame part of the lawn, to demonstrate the rest.

So how hot do you you get these? They got red hot in short order with a propane torch. They smoked a lot and then caught on fire :twitchy:
(I do have a spare set if I just ruined these) |

I hold them in the flame of an NG stove for 20 seconds or so. I think they have glowed and flamed a bit, but a propane torch is a lot hotter! I will certainly buy you a set if I'm responsible for destroying them, but I bet they're okay.
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...27c1a9b186.jpg (I think they're fine, too. We'll see if they spontaneously delaminate out riding) Preliminary ride on the rear pads showed greatly increased stopping power and no noise :thumb: |

There is a relatively newer cyclist who has started riding with my little inner circle the past year or so.
He is a nice guy but he really prefers a Camelbak to water bottles. I am trying not to be a snobby cyclist, but I still cringe a bit when he shows up with it. I have not directly said anything to him other than "doesn't that thing get hot during a long ride?" Should I continue to bite my tongue? Or tell him he cannot be a serious road cyclist until he switches to bidons? Better yet, maybe I should post my question in the 41 with a poll?? |

I have a Park boot that came with the new bike I bought in '96. Do you think it would still be good? The hole is miniscule at the moment. Right at the fringe of the tread. A boot would be better than a cold patch mounted inside? Maybe both. It was nice that I didn't even have to remove the tube in order to patch it.

I just ordered a pair of XT 4 piston brakes from Merlin Cycles https://www.merlincycles.com/shimano...et-179622.html to upgrade from the stock Shimano m520/m500 set. $280 is a great price.

Velo Vol , looks like you might be getting a LeMond facility for a neighbor soon:
A Tennessee news site reported Wednesday that LeMond is moving its bike business and its carbon fiber business from Oak Ridge to West Knoxville. |

When I ride with my regular club I never use it because I know there are water stops. With a lot of solo riding this year and water sources turned off and wanting to avoid stores, especially when alone, I started using it on hot rides. With 2 big bottles and a 2 liter Camelbak I can carry about a gallon. I tried an extra bottle in the jersey and 2 bottles in a handlebar bag but the Camelbak seems to work best for me. |
