Some ride ideas close to the AA campus:

Hwy 360 frontage road north of Hwy 183 runs on the west side of the airport. It’s has pretty light traffic, and there are frequently cyclists out there.

River Legacy Park MUP in Arlington. 5 miles out and then back. Good number of cyclists east of Collins Street. Fewer walkers. Not congested. Ten minutes from AA.

Roads north of the airport in the Founders Plaza area. Light traffic, but mostly commercial traffic. Park at Founders Plaza and take off.

how far away are you? could we meet up and ride?

I am hoping next time I can make it over to mad duck cycle shop.

Slow night. Everyone must be watching the Pittsburgh Pirates play.

nope it's playoff baseball. I'm enjoying the Yankees, and especially Gerrit Cole, fail in spectacular fashion. In between nodding off. Hard day at work and poor quality sleep has me crashing and burning.

Get a proper headlight and do laps in the Brown Squirrel parking lot!

Mad Duck is a nice shop. So is Playtri, but that’s not as close to you. There is a nice Trek shop close to AA in Arlington. They do group rides on Saturday mornings, and I’m sure you’d be welcomed.

I’m about 30 minutes from AA. We can certainly try to get together for a ride if you don’t mind riding with an old goat. I’m pretty much limited to weekends right now as work has really picked up. Have to milk that cow when you can. But, if you’re here on a weekend (other than this one) I can make something work.

As of now I come back Oct 29. Schedule is 4 days on 2 days off. So if my days off look like they will fall on a weekend I will let you know.

I was tempted to walk to that trek store in Arlington on Sunday. GPS said it would take me 3 hours to get there so I decided not too.

On the map it looks like you have bike shops all over the place, of course the hotel I am at is not near any of them.

What hotel? Uber is good around here.

we’ll be around in November, except for Thanksgiving (heading to Austin). Let me know.

I'll be using this frequently.

bampilot06 10-05-21 09:08 PM

Well I have a new excuse for being slow.

Well I have a new excuse for being slow.

I was thinking about this recently. Some of my chains have never been cleaned. I've been thinking of changing that.

seedsbelize2 10-06-21 06:43 AM

After this week I will again have time to ride.

Off to New York I go. I’ve never been to New York City.

My expectations are pretty high.
1. I want to be an extra on SVU
2. I want somebody to say “forget about it” to me

I guess my expectations are not too high.

Mojo31 10-06-21 07:35 AM

Have fun in the Big Apple.

You may have better luck with #1 than #2. In fact, you may be lucky to have anyone say anything at all to you unless they are paid to do so.

Fun place to visit.

In literally 100s of trips to NYC for work in the early-mid 2010s I never once heard "forget about it"
