Late night last night, we went to our first real concert in 18 months. It was at the University and the program was quite good. I will see if I can find a list of the pieces for our local Band Hero, Velo Vol . But now need more coffee.

edit: I can't find the program but here is cut/paste of what we heard. The musicianship was quite good. Daughter #2 plays French Horn in the Wind Ensemble.

Under the direction of professor M. Gregory Martin, the Wind Symphony will begin its program with Paul Dukas’ Fanfare ‘La Peri,’ followed by Kimberly Archer’s Common Threads, and concluding its portion with Alfred Reed’s Second Suite for Band, ‘Latino-Americano.’

Under the direction of professor Andrew Yozviak, the Wind Ensemble program includes Cindy McTee’s playful Notezart, followed by Carlos Simon’s Sweet Chariot and the world premiere of WCU alumna Christina George’s Learning to Stay. James David’s Ghosts of the Old Year will finish this exciting evening of music.

I reported the driver as an illegal alien. Deportation proceedings should be underway soon.

Got passed by a car today with only about 2 inches of clearance off my bar.

Cars don’t kill cyclist, ass holes kill cyclist.

I wish I could fit a brick in my back pocket.

I hate when that happens. A lot of times you don't know if they are being sadistic or if they're just oblivious.

I am quick to assume, but you're right.

I feel done for the season.

it could have been either with this one. He had plenty of room, but it was a weird part of road. No shoulder but it starts of really wide and then narrows. Once the narrow is completed a bike lane starts.

I have a bad jump reflex when startled. So when I get a close pass it takes everything to now swerve.

Last night I again got the final "Jeopardy!" question without seeing the answer, only the category, which was Winter Olympic Sports. It was at least the 6th time I have done that.

I feel like I'm approaching that point, but I'm not there yet.

Also, I'm not quite sure what "done for the season" is going to mean for me. It may just mean dialing back the intensity and/or duration of outdoor rides. At the same time, I've steadily built my CTL over the last month, and I hate to see that wither. I also want to keep on top of my daily caloric targets, and riding in some form or another helps a lot.

I'm actually setting up my trainer in earnest, right now. In addition to the Elite software, I've got one month trials on Zwift and Rouvy; I may save the two of those for when there's actually snow on the ground, otherwise I might not get more than a session or two out of them. Maybe a big Addiction Zwift ride should be set up some time.

You probably don't need any more convincing, but this is another way in which the Varia helps me - it prepares you for passes that might otherwise startle.

I would be in favor of setting up a regular group ride on Zwift. Anything to fight the boredom and depression.

Glad you were ok. I hate getting buzzed like that. I do try to catch the driver at the next stop sign/intersection and firmly tell them they were too close and remind them of Pennsylvania's 4 foot pass law.

I might be interested, but honestly I don't really like Zwift and would rather bundle up and ride in the cold. I save Zwift for when road conditions are too icy or snowy to ride safely. I don't typically renew my membership until November and pitch it in March.

I bet that helps.

Probably helps more than flipping them the bird and calling them bad names. Which are probably deserved.
