My last ride (87 miles), I had a bowl of steel cut oats before leaving home, a granola bar ~25 miles in and a pack of Hostess Cupcakes at a gas station at about 50 miles. Of course, the last ~25 miles were powered by crash-fueled adrenaline, but pay no attention to that part. :o |

We’re heading up to Lake Ontario for the week today, near where I grew up. Bringing the bike so I’ll be able to ride a bit, but I’ve been trying to rest a little.
About three weeks ago, I had a little too much fun with the neighbors and then tripped over some stone in my driveway. Since then, my right hand has had increasing levels of pain, usually made worse by riding. It was so bad the other day I couldn’t cut a watermelon for the kids- so I finally went to the dr. Not a break thankfully, just a sprain. Wearing a splint most of the time now. |
