Speaking of fall back, is standard time over? Or do we have one more time to fall back?

I like that.

How about a fanny pack?
I'm not happy with my current seat bag either. But not unhappy enough to actually look for something else. Vanity is at the bottom of the list of criteria. That's just me.
I have the great good fortune of simply moving the entire seatpost from bike to bike.

Fanny pack, sounds Larry.

AFAIK, the Senate passed a bill that did not pass the House, so there's no change in the law. DST ends November 6th 2022 and begins again on March 12, 2023.

Nah. Larry uses the Blanche DuBois method - depending on the kindness of strangers.

Im not sure how I feel about it either way. Naturally my feelings toward bare no weight, but I did feel the need to get that off my chest.

We go to standard time November 6th. We are currently using daylight savings time.

So I have stopped using saddle bags. In my growing sense of vanity, I hate the way they look. So in my pockets I bring my phone, a tube, 2 tire levers, my mini tool and a protein bar. If I’m on the ritchey I bring a spare downtube clamp. Don’t know if they break but don’t want to find out.

Its not ideal, but it doesn’t really bother me. Today I wore my new matching kit, and the material is super stretchy, so by the end of the ride it felt like the items in my pocket were hanging off my backside. If I tried to sprint, they were bouncing all over the place. This didn’t happen the first time I wore it, and it’s not too big. Thoughts? I’m gunna have to come up with a better solution. I like the mini saddle bags I see, but I don’t think I would be good at fitting that stuff in them.

I used to use a mini saddle bag for tube/tools, and just stuck it in my middle jersey pocket, but the zipper finally failed (it was 20+ years old). I replaced it with one of these... https://a.co/d/8mmtEMP It lays pretty flat against my back my back, and fits perfectly in the pocket, with nothing sticking out.

Pockets:
L - Phone
C - Tube/tool case
R - Snacks

I put all my ride crap in a medium sized seat pack. I prefer not to have it in my pockets, especially in cooler weather when I need to stash layers in there. I can't see the seat pack when I'm riding, anyway.

I got this fancy pouch for my personal effects -- phone, wallet, keys, etc. Goes in the center jersey pocket.

Yep, the last two days for me. Started my rides in the mid 50s.

rjones28 09-13-22 06:04 PM

The main reason I picked one up was because it's made from inner tubes.

rjones28 09-13-22 06:04 PM

And it was on Silca's press demo sale.

I believe that is correct. For some reason, I had thought it was a done deal but since the House did not pass, we are continuing as before.

Does it leak?

Here is my low-tech bag:

Yeah, I'm in the small seat bag/roll camp. I like having pocket room for phone, money/credit cards/ID, snacks and to stow gloves, gilet, hat, gaiter, etc in variable weather. Plus, I'd forget the tool/flat kit too often, otherwise.

Nope. But it'll be east to patch, if it does. :)

It’s a really nice antique table that my sister gave us. I don’t know its pedigree.

seedsbelize2 09-13-22 07:36 PM

Still raining

would a small / narrow saddle bag be an option ?

genejockey 09-13-22 08:57 PM

Well, THAT was a lot of fun!!

After not riding outside on Sunday, because of my knee, I took the Litespeed out for my 22 mile route after work today. I kept looking down at the Garmin and seeing about 2 more mph than I expected. I ended up beating my best time by almost 3 minutes.

Funny thing is, the saddle felt a little low, and when I looked, sure enough it's about 0.5 cm low. I tried to fix it but the whole thing rotated. I need TWO 5mm wrenches, and I only had one with me. But I felt so strong I wonder whether it had been too high!
