One item was a homelink switch that was plug and play. All of the homelink guts were already in the car. I remember adding another switch for something on the dash; pop the cover and plug in the switch. Don’t remember what it was but it was a factory switch for some pre-wired factory option.

Speaking of cars, my 80year old neighbor gave his car to his grand daughter last Sunday. Late model Camry with low miles. He told her if she kept her grades up he would get her something upon graduating HS. He said she had straight As so she got the car. He has another older truck but is going to buy another new car.
It's the second car he's given to a grand daughter in the last few years. Nice guy. |

I’m not so opposed to the built-in nature (competition will often take care of that and make things standard) but no monthly fees. There is no way they’ll make it cheaper. And it portends poorly for those of us who want to keep things a long time.

Staying in a Day’s Inn in Childress for the night. I have gotten too bougie for this.
And Texas still sucks. |

And Texas still sucks. Cheapest suite south of the river though that I would consider. |

It’s going to be a hot and humid day. I still would love to do a longer ride, as I acclimate well to these conditions, but my friends don’t share my enthusiasm so we are only planning a 70 mile ride. Good enough.

Last day of riding in Wisconsin. Doing a short 30 miler back to Rhinelander. We’ve had good weather and beautiful roads and to top it off, I dropped my wife yesterday 10 miles from the end of our 60+ mile ride and try as she could, she couldn’t catch. The last 10 miles were pan flat. She didn’t stand a chance.

Driving to Austin in a couple of hours. Will put the Garmin in my pocket and pick up a few KOMs.

Keeps manufacturing costs down by making them all the same, and then electronically activating those options that are purchased.
Seems like you could have the dealer do the activation based on an ala carte menu, but nope. #signofthetimes |
