If I'm going to ride I'd better get up and go. Only supposed to be 89 today, have to enjoy it while it lasts.

Sure, but it cuts both ways. Cyclists likely wouldn't have stood around yapping long enough for it to get to that point if they're not packing. As a card-carrying hot-head, I think that cooler heads need to prevail and that's doesn't happen with an armed mentality.

This. I mean, what's the point if you never use it?

All we have to do is find a time and a place where I'm not boiling and you're not freezing. :twitchy:

Stopped at a grocery store for a bottle of wine. Woman in front of me pulls down her mask, wipes her nose with her fingers then puts those fingers on the counter. Gross.

That's getting downright Venusian!

Did hill reps in the local atmosphere this a.m. Didn't feel too bad, but the amount of sweat I shed while going slow and working hard in 77º and 100% relative humidity is spectacular.

Found a Camelbak WB with the fancy valve.

Oh, and residential AC equipment is gobbich. We are at 8 years and looking at 2500 for a new coil. They tried to sell me on a whole new system because everything is about to asplode.

New 90’ HR record (156bpm) and 25’ total above 300w. And chased down and mercilessly dropped the Felt IA with 404s that got me at point.

Now excuse me while I go pass out.

I don’t see it on my strava feed. Doesn’t count.

buffalo is HAF. Only reason I bid this trip was to go north and get away from the heat. I found a bike shop to rent a bike. It would be a 54 diverge. 50 dollars for 3 hours, and I didn’t bring my helmet so throw in another 10 for that.

I offered 25 for 2 hours, they didn’t bite.

Ride today was good but SO humid. At rest stop, one of the riders was not looking so good. I asked her how much water she drank so far. She said 2/3 of a bottle. I had gone through both my bottles by that time. I suggested she drink more but obviously she is of the Velo Vol school of hydration.

The total ride was just under 3.5 hours and I ended up drinking over 4 bottles of water.

If you looked up while you were out, I flew over you.

Bad diagnosis, probably.

Major school axes rowing. Sad.

So I realized the rear wheel making the pinging sound has a small crack near one of the spoke holes, which is a bumner. Sad!

I threw on another old rear wheel (the stock DT Swiss boat anchor that came on the Roubaix) but I realized why I had it off the bike and on the shelf: for some reason, under heavy load only, the wheel goes side-to-side slightly but enough to rub the rear brake. This is really a drag. The wheel itself spins nice and true. I can’t quite figure out why it does this other than maybe I need to tighten the axle somehow? The QR is plenty tight in the dropout.

Advice?

Y’all keep it up and I’ll get back on Strava for the summer just to wreck someones’ days on the podium and just delete again after the weather turns again.

And then this thread will be rueing once again.

I rode a bike today
Uptown, for a bike tire. I had a spring in my step upon returning
