Too bad we live in city limits.

throw a rubber snake in there. Usually they won't go near them

No real need for a rubber snake. We get real ones in there from time-to-time.

Referred me to a place that does radio frequency ablation and facet nerve blocks and epidural spinal injections. I'm not going to waste my time with the epidural steroid injections if I can and go to something that will provide relief. At least i'm getting closer to getting some pain relief. What a cluster.

If you want to send me your records, I'd be happy to have a look and show your images to the local neuroradiologists.

How many heads fit in a box that size.

Man, something about a fractal vise is so satisfying -

That's very cool. I haven't seen one of those before.

White bar tape should be white, but often isn't. Hence black bar tape.

Even my blue tape gets black. I clean it with Formula 409 and a stiff brush but I worry about the cleaner soaking through to the bar. I also tried Armor All upholstery cleaner, not as effective. Tape is getting pretty worn out so I could switch to black, then I could let it get real nasty.

Family forum. Reported.

All my bikes have black tape, except the Battaglin because it's a "Red bike/bright alloy/white saddle/white tape" situation, and the Bianchi - because it's a Bianchi, so the bar tape is, of course, celeste.

I have a spare set of 1/4” mono heads that a guy gave me years ago. Pretty sure they were intended for an Ampex, probably an AG-350.

I hate running, and as far as swimming goes I can keep myself from drowning.

I don't think I could.

Oooh, Ducati e-bikes! Maybe they've been around a while and I never noticed 'til now...

As long as it's a pool with a bottom, I'm okay. Swimming in the bay or the ocean? I'd be well and truly scrood.

Open water swimming easier imo if you are allowed to use a wetsuit. Trust me, I am a former triathlete. Kinda. I did a few, longest was Olympic length.

I did not know that. Wired wild stuff

Yep. I can swim around in a pool, I've body surfed and boogie boarded in the Pacific. I also nearly drowned trying to make it out to a floating dock thing in Castaic Lake.

When I was a ute there was a teacher strike and they sent us home. I was probably about 14 or 15. A friend and I hitch hiked to Santa Monica and went into the ocean and got stuck in a rip tide. We both thought we were going to drown but we made it out and collapsed on the sand, exhausted.

Also helps to be at least minimally able to swim. I've never been good at it, even with lessons.

I never had lessons, or even advice or pointers from swimmers.

Here's the full video. Fractal vises are essentially small, free-pivoting jaws nestled in to increasingly larger versions of themselves, so that they can conform and clamp any shape -

As a yute, thoughts of what monsters might be swimming below always gave me the heebie-jeebies.

Yeah, my tri career was about 10 years ago and only lasted about 3 seasons. Running is stupid and swimming is boring. I am now a one-trick pony.

Mojo31 03-10-22 06:39 PM

When we were in the VI last month, 4 of us embarked on a swim of about 300 yards from the boat to a snorkeling spot. I was a bit nervous, but it wasn’t too bad. Easy to float in salt water. Belly fat helps also.

I’ve never been a good swimmer. People always asked how I could be so into sailing and enjoy being on the water in light of that. I just always tell them that if you stay on the friggin boat, you don’t have to know how to swim.

I also don’t swim in lakes. I have to be able to see my toes.

phrantic09 03-10-22 06:41 PM

Dropped my phone while riding yesterday, no obvious damage but when I got home it was well and truly screwed. It was sort of nice being without one for a day.

My wife and I swim offshore in Marblehead, def need a wetsuit and it makes it a lot easier. I’m tri-curious and may do a sprint this summer with some friends.
