Confession:

I've been binge listening to Steely Dan lately. I've always liked them but unlike some other artists I've never binged them.

Slide back Sunday. Driving home from the 1995 Seagull Century in Salisbury, MD. My traveling companion wanted to stop for pumpkins. Saw Hercules lapping up dew.

Quick Struts?

genejockey 03-13-22 04:50 PM

Just shy of 58 miles. Beautiful day for riding, though I could have used a bit less breeze in a couple places. Not too bad, though. Certainly not as soul-sucking as the summer afternoon NW winds.

I ran out of Brawndo Skratch Labs Hydration Mix, so I just drank water, which isn't a problem when the temps are like this, but in the summer I'd be in dire straits. And not the good Dire Straits, with Mark Knopfler on guitar, either.

Typical Alfa, as I understand it.

So, it needs to be asked - are you, in fact, reeling in the years?

Apparently Tom Brady has unretired.

Maybe his 401K lost money? Invested in the Russian stock market?

As luck would have it, yesterday I needed some music to boost my spirits while doing chores, so I put "Can't Buy A Thrill" and "Aja" on the CD changer.

My Millennial children just don't understand. No, we got nothing in common, no we can't talk at all.

Right. I don't think I would ever confuse an old Alfa, or even a new Alfa, for a set of quick struts. Though, a set of quick struts are likely more reliable than a new Alfa.

Yep. I'd rather live in COSprings and just be done with it if it comes down to that. I still envy Pcad, RIP.

One day they'll have to reopen it and deal with what happens. Right now no one knows just how much it's tanked.

Absolutely. Before Conrail was acquired and mostly split up we served that area. The line going down there was affectionately called the Purdue Secondary. Lots of cars of grain for the chicken farms.

Not Monroe Quick Struts™, but yeah, MRE version. I'm not about to mess with spring compressors and whatnot.

Good call. You'll zip right through it. Mark the spindles before removal to aid in close alignment settings.

I compressed automotive springs a time or two in my youth. With rented equipment. #livingdangerously

Visited the granddog this weekend. Beat the heck out of hearing about war machines.
