I have been riding in the late afternoons, so 88 is not a problem for me. In fact, I rode yesterday with temps over 90. 106, however is right out.

At the.moment I am out on the patio, where it's about 96 or so, with a glass of ice tea. NOT sweetened, because ew.

also had a beautiful expensive encounter with a stick - took out rear wheel / spokes, XTR rear derailleur, XTR cassette, and the chain

that one really hurt

happened in early 2000's and the rear wheel is still in the same condition

serious question(s) -

what chain lube were you using before ?

i recently tried 'Rock and Roll' chain lube and so far seems good - have you tried this stuff ?

Next project time now that the Domane is done.

Going to put the 105 drive train (50/34 and 11-34) on the Sirrus 4.0. Have flat bar shifters coming. Tektro brakes will remain for the time being, but may change to 105 brakes if I can find levers. Currently have 38mm gravel tires, but also have 28mm street tires. Already have carbon seatpost, and will get carbon flat bars.

Any thoughts on relatively inexpensive things to make it more cooler? Carbon wheels are not in the budget right now. Silver/black color scheme, but would like to add some pop.

carbon or a King cage ?

titanium bell ?

what grips are you going with ?

titanium bell ? No bell.

what grips are you going with ? Not sure.

See above.

Can get blue accents.

Current bar is flat, and I donít need a rise. Already a pretty high head tube.

Cable disks or juice? XT 2 finger brake levers are nice and the mtb shifter mounts to the brake lever.

i noticed a cool breeze off the ocean at around 7 so i went for a very quick 9 miles. 30 minutes. super nice. by the time i finished the breeze seemed to have died an untimely death.

Prepping for a CT scan of my lower half. I can have a light breakfast but not sure what would be best. Creamy like yogurt? Oatmeal? Grits? Scan at 11:30.

Cycling content: Going to do a short ride this afternoon.

Same here. I now have as many 5s as 3s :(

Wow, it's raining bigly out there. Looks like a >24 hour rainfall event too, so tomorrow's "Usual Suspects" ride is in jeopardy.

R&R Gold - overall a good lube. Quiet & long-lasting. I just hated how dirty it was. Look at it wrong and it's all over everything
R&R Red - much cleaner than Gold, not nearly as long lasting, and noisy
White Lightning Clean Ride - I do like this one and I currently use it on my fixed gear. Quiet and reasonably long lasting, but it's so thin in the bottle that it has a tendency to get everywhere on application. Also have seen it give a waxy buildup eventually
Muc-Off Dry - great for dry conditions, but just falls apart in the wet
Dumonde Tech Lite - started using this on my MTB since it's what I had near me at the shop. It's quiet, stays clean, and seems to last a while. Might eventually try it on other bikes, especially the fixed gear.

Juice.

I'll check into those brake levers. I'm stuck with the Shimano RS700 shifters as they are all I can find that work with the 11 speed road 105 stuff.

I have the 11 speed XT on the mtb and it shifts great. I don't know if it will work with a 105 set-up but I don't see why not. Do they make 105 brake levers in that style?
