There’s plenty of that here too. The general lack of common courtesy toward other drivers or to cyclists amazes me lately.

If you ever want something else to try, the Roka SL1-X is exactly that. It was designed to extend the coverage upwards for the aero position, but would work for what you describe. Or there’s a helmet with a shield, like the Giro Vanquish.

Both will make you look like a shower tote, if you care.

Extended coverage along the top, be it with tall frames, frameless, or frameless along the top, is starting to become pretty common, it seems. Not that it matters much to me - I don't think that I've gone on more than a handful of rides without a cycling cap in the last few years, so the visor is going to block that line of sight, anyway.

Oh hey, speaking of Rapha, how’s their sizing? Was thinking of giving them a try in my quest for a few more kits to fuel my new daily real-riding. Is 5’11” 175lbs M or L?

I like the specs. A little spendy, but I probably already look like a shower tote.

For the lines with a more casual fit (Core, Classic, Brevet), you'd probably want an M - at the same height and 10lbs heavier (~41 chest), the L is form-fitting but not plastered on. They're really good about the shipping, though - they come with a paid return label, so ordering multiples and returning whatever doesn't fit is easy enough.

For the bibs, L fit me well. I have large-ish, but not tree trunk legs, and they're usually the biggest factor for fit.

It'd be a hard-fought battle, but I think that the offerings from 100% have the highest doosh quotient when it comes to sunglasses.

Project Rudy had a 50% off sale around thanksgiving and I really thought hard getting a last year’s model with chromatic lenses but passed. I still think perhaps I should have gotten them.

I’m a bit of enigma to myself when it comes to this. My eyes are sensitive to bright light, but I don’t like and can’t handle dark sunglasses for prolonged duration.

I wear them religiously for eye protection purposes when riding and I settled on orange/yellow/mango colored lenses. Clear enough to wear 5:15 in the morning when riding to work and bordering manageable for bright sun around 4:00 in the afternoon when I’m heading back home. I’d like to try chromatic lenses but the higher the UV exposure, the darker they get (plus they tend to be more efficient in low temperatures) and it was/is the thing I don’t like about them on my transitions prescription eye glasses. They get disturbingly dark in the winter time and then don’t get light enough quickly when your indoors.

So my contract before the corporate buy-out stated that I got 4 weeks of vacation time after 10yr of employment with the old company, which was a benchmark that I achieved before the corp stepped in.

But. The max annual vacation allotment with the corp is 3 weeks. I had to wrangle with them a bit when they took over my contract. In the end, they agreed to keep me at 4 weeks vacation. Cool. I get one more week vacation than most people in the corp.

Then. When I wanted to explore the 3 day work week, my regional VP looked into my contract and stated that the wording of my contract was such that I could go to 3 days a week, still be considered full time and all my benefits would remain the same.

I assumed that meant that I'd still get 4 weeks of vacation. With a 4 day work week that was 16 days, and with a 3 day work week it would become 12 days.

Nope. Thats not how it works. A full time employee accrues vacation hours at a certain number per pay period. It doesn't matter if you work 3 or 4 or 5 days, you still accrue the same number of vacation hours per week.

Which means I have the same number of total hours of vacation days per week. Previously that was equivalent to 4 weeks, but now it is equivalent to 5 weeks.

So: In September, I will move to a 3 day work week, same benefits, same base salary, and an extra week of vacation.

One more thing I’d note if you go to the Core line, you’ll roast in hot temps if you don’t get the lightweight version. I have both and have to put the regular Core away once it’s about 80.

I prefer yellow lenses in all situations. I originally got them for riding at night on back roads with no ambient light. I was blinded by the oncoming traffic, so I got the yellow photo- chromatic lenses to cut the glare.
Edit: photo- chromatic is not the word I'm looking for, but it's the word I came up with.

My tubular tire order got cancelled by ProBikeKit, due to discontinuation. So I'm shopping around, and see prices in the 1400 range. I'm thinking, oh, they are giving me prices in pesos. But no. Upon closer inspection, it was crabon wheels.
