Let's see your fenders. I'll show you mine.

Two seconds on or off, which includes time to find the right spot to touch it without getting dirty.

Amazing bike. No thanks on that fender-oid object.

Just to up the ti bikes in here so far, my new Lynskey. When they have their clearance sales, prices become very affordable.

NIce. How do you like those wheels? They were pretty tempting when on sale at Competitive.

Very happy, I’ve had these for about a year. They roll pretty smooth, and still true after lots of harsh gravel rides. Really wish I would have also jumped on the 650b Mercury had on CC for a while.

Lots of bottle cage options instead of the one lonely generic LBS one.

My favorite for carbon is the Arundel Mandible. My favorite for good looking cheap is the Tacx Tao. It's discontinued, but I found a two pack for the Cinelli.

It has since been replaced by a Ti cage which came as part of the R3 deal.

I know that this is the Ti thread now and I've already violated the rules by posting some steel, but these all remind me of the bike I never should have sold.

I seriously think about this thing a few times a month.

2008 GT GTR Type CX. The sexiest aluminum frame I've ever seen in the flesh. Thinking how it would look with a more modern groupset just hurts :(

I've looked through my old emails and found the guy that I sold it to, but we never exchanged numbers, just talked through the Craigslist email system. I've seriously thought about trying to track him down and buy at least the frameset back from him.

Can we ask for an updated photo?

I'm losing on the fenders. Can you get something less ugly? You've gotten suggestions.

What bar shape do you prefer or do you have a preferred bar? Great opportunity for matching stem/post/bars. Deda, Enve (will match fork), 3T.

Carbon, so that they don't leech heat out of his hands in the winter. :innocent:

We just realize ol MoAlpha isn't going to turf the fenders, so may as well get something that looks like it belongs on that bike, that isn't wood.

I'm drooling over Whyfi's and Slowgo's Cervelos, and now you guys are pushing titanium. I just got this email from Ribble who have a new ti model. Looks very interesting and pretty reasonable!

That is pretty nice looking - I like the dropped stays and the sandblasted branding. Under $2500 for Ti with hydro 105 is pretty darn good.

Post up the Habanero and let's see how much sbxx can enable you.

No thanks. I know what the Habanero needs. It needs a SRAM Force ETap AXS drivetrain.

Wood, Jerry. Wood is good!

I know! I like that frame. But is there a custom's charge plus shipping? I've only bought stuff like groupsets or less from UK.

So do it up! No better time than the pre- ...oh wait.

Oh, yeah, there should be. Anything over $800 USD is subject. I think that some things still sneak through, but a box big enough for a bike might raise some flags.

Indeed, I made the mistake of clicking on that No. 22 link posted up yesterday. For about 2 minutes a shopping cart with an $8,000+ bike in it. And I am neither an old man nor a dentist.

The answer is to have one of each.

And even though they call it “endurance” geometry, stack and reach are within mms of my old S1.

Hrm...

Same. I have the old part down, but pulling the trigger on 8K worth of bike, is not an easy thing to do.

Bah Humbug 04-02-20 12:26 PM

In other news, I'm now getting spam offers to buy face masks. Does that move the needle, WhyFi ?

You've probably seen the Cervelo closeout deals at Excel. There's usually some wiggle room there too. I'd buy one of those before ti.

I'd rather be old. Oops, did I say that out loud?

When I told mine about that demo R5 Disc at Excel, asked "well do you want it?".

@BillyD.
Well now it makes sense. I was posting in a closed thread. Nevermind.
