Route from the Point State Park to Coraopolis PA

I am riding the GAP to Pittsburgh and back to Cumberland. I thought of riding back via the Montour trail (I know about the Greer tunnel, looks like it can be bypassed). Is there any good route to connect from the GAP terminus to the Montour trail in Coraopolis?

From the blogs and videos it looks like people take the one suggested by Google (screenshot), but they strongly dislike the stretch on route 50 and the Neville island part (narrow to no shoulder, glass). Or should I try to arrange for a shuttle?

Not For The Faint Of Heart

Rode that route on the way to a friend's party in Sewickley maybe 15 years ago when living in Pgh.
Neville Island was the easy and interesting bit of the trip.
If nothing's changed, and as we're talking Pgh who knows, avail yourself of alternate passage.

Thank you!
Paid for a shuttle, turned out to be the right decision as bypassing the Greer tunnel was an adventure itself.

A couple of years ago, I arrived in PGH via the Pittsburgh Spur of the Underground Railroad Adventure Cycling map, ugh!
Eventually it crossed on the McKees Rocks bridge. Heavy traffic, hilly, complicated.
