Nice bike!

- tks... but no, actually true... the Fortius was a low-end Merlin (as in lower cost)... my model is not painted... non-integrated headset (what i wanted in a Ti bike)... straight seat stays, but thicker curved chainstays...

- geometry is nearly identical to the now-defunct Magia! (a real bonus!)

:-)

p.s. i'll never, ever sell this bike...

I know, I just though it funny for I would never think of a Merlin as Low-end, it's like the inverse of High-end Huffy

Can I post another? :o

That Davidson is Unique! :)

No! ;)

S. Squirrel; Sweet looking Classic! Nice & clean.

Nitro & BayArea; I have always thought that an FJ40 would be real sweet with a carbon body. None of the stinkin fiberglass stuff, go carbon, cut the weight way down,.... you know the deal. But that is for a different forum.

That Classic Litespeed Polish reminds me of Queen Amidala's, Naboo Royal Star Ship in Star Wars, Nice and Shiny!

Polished titanium doesn't seem as popular as the brushed or natural finishes. I think that people identify the tag "titanium" or even "stainless steel" with a flat, gray metal. (Just an observation) Monkeys and children like "shiny" things. I wonder which category I fall into. :)

Chef23 03-23-06 10:39 PM

Great now I want one too.

I picked up a polished classic over the winter & am mildly redoing it. Yours gives me a target to shoot for. I also prefer the plished look. I think I fall into the "child" categroy. My wife would say the "monkey" category. I quess the opinion of others varies between the two.

I was beginning to wonder if i was the only one with a Merlin! I'd post a picture, but i dont have a camera of any sorts. Well, i have a webcam, but the quality etc wouldnt do justice to the bike. I love looking at how neat the welds are, and then look at some of the ugly welds on the other bikes in the Bike Room of my dorm. Haha....

of course I went carbon. :)

Thanks, I'll pass the word onto my IF. It could use some love right now. It definitely is not happy with me for putting it aside for a couple of months. It's used to being my primary bike.

Ha, Thanks... but i'm pretty sure it fits only one person

Marlin523 03-24-06 12:57 PM

I'm thinking perhaps my next bike will be a Litespeed.....if they fit right.

I don't get this. Why not get a Seven? Better bike, made to fit you!!

kidding:)

Your Serotta and all the other rides are beautiful. ViperZ, please post your first ride report and px when it warms up--from some of your other posts I get the feeling you have a hankering to do a classic build? i can't wait. . . (drools vicariously)

Where's the frame?

All I see, is wheels and a big seatpost. ;)

True. At what point in compact geometry does one describe the bike as a Ritchey with Litespeed components? :)

Cleave 03-24-06 05:26 PM

Hi,

I'm cheating a bit because I sold this frame last September:

http://www.pbase.com/cleavel/image/4...2/original.jpg

I liked it well enough but I like the fit and geometry of my Looks better.
