I think brakes would be a nice addition without adding too much complexity.

Gravity Bike. Has front brakes... and likely some lead shot in the frame to bring it up to 23kg. Usually they have some knee rests as well as the rear sets. Would go very, very very fast down hills.

I remember people building similar bikes by flipping a BMX frame upside down.
