That is a cracked chainstay. After 5 months post-wreck, my luck ran out. Started making a creaking noise last Friday and I thought it was the bottom bracket. Nope.

Going to try the Cannondale crash replacement program through my retailer.

That's all I've got to say about that.

At a stop, I gave the front end a little wiggle and saw that the through axle was a little loose, allowing the wheel to slide side-to-side a mm or two. I guess that the folks at Robert Axle Project were serious when they recommended that users check their TAs for proper torque before each ride.

well somehow this makes me feel better.

Another successful once-this-week mowing of the lawn. Across the street a little boy with some tennis balls came out when the wrestling dogs did and it was pure chaos.

That's no good with the axle coming out. What's the torque spec for it?

12nm, iirc. It would have had to have unthreaded quite a bit more to be in serious danger, and it would be difficult not to notice. I don't think that I've taken the wheel off since putting the bike together, so it's been over 1k miles - I'll check it a little more frequently.

I think Iím gunna check mine before every ride. My axle is at eye level when I hang my bike. Quick check before I pull it down. I donít want that to happen again.

It's the day before a long weekend, lots of people are out on vacation, and my bike's in my truck so I can go ride one of my favorite roads after I get off work.

I've got a feeling it's going to be a long one.

I'm off work, the weather is nice, and right outside my door up the hill are 4 HC climbs and numerous Cat 1 and Cat 2 climbs, with virtually no traffic at all.

Yet, I can't find much motivation to ride, unfortunately. I might get in an hour today. I honestly think the motivation to ride is the #1 most important thing to have, because once you have that, you'll find a way to overcome all the various excuses, and find the time to get out there and ride. :)

Alarm cat got into our room at 4:30AM. We usually close the door tight so she can't do that, but that hard lemonade must have gone to my wife's head, as she did not close door tight enough to click it, and of course Jackie came in and wanted some love from me. It was a bit early but I can't be angry with such a lovely creature.

Hey WhyFi - heard you were bored. Want to come over and hook my new fridge up to the water line?

No, but hooking up my fridge is another thing that's somewhere down the list of things that I need to do. I never got around to running a water line when we got it a couple years ago, but it would be nice to always have ice on hand as warmer weather approaches.

Funny - my poor old boy would howl and scratch at any fully-latched door, but with the bedroom door open he would just come and curl up at our feet or in between us if he was cold. Never woke me up.
