Exactly. I edited it to mirror my letter. Secretary of the Treasury deserves the highest compliment, and that would be imitation.

I remember having a creak that the LBS traced to aluminum seatpost clamp and titanium rails. Applied some goo and the creaking went away.

I get so used to bikes making some noise or other that riding Deadman yesterday was eerily quiet. The only sounds were wheels on pavement, my breathing, and of course my tinnitus.

I’ve had a rail clamp creak too. Took months to figure out.

We did that and candy bars (World's Finest!) when I was a kid, but I would guess that a lot of the people donating wouldn't want a coupon book, anyway.

Why not? They've got lots of coupons. Something for everyone.

I remember as a yute mowing lawns in Oregon we mowed lawns rain or shine, as long as the lawns didn't get super muddy.

You didn't mow while it was raining. Come on.

Reuter's tweeter must have had cycling in mind.

All the time. Remember that in the Portland Metro Area it is almost always drizzling. So if you don't work when it rains you don't really work that much.

LesterOfPuppets 10-08-21 06:46 PM

We painted houses if it wasn't raining too hard and it wasn't too windy also.

drizzling ≠ rain

You still mow when it's more than a drizzle too. You keep going until it gets muddy, cuz at that point you're damaging the lawn. Nice sandy soil lawns you can mow almost any day. Clay soil ones you can get in trouble after just a little rain.

gnome 10-08-21 07:06 PM

oof. I need to do more cycling. went to get coffee at a not so local cafe. had a moderate headwind there. took a slight detour home and even with the tailwind most of the way home I still feel knackered. at least the coffee, and the peanut butter cup was good.

I might finish something in the rain if there's not much left. But no for longer periods. It's pretty miserable, and the grass gets slippery. And on the rider, it can tear damage the lawn.

Stand by for an important post.

Did a couple of laps on a course I hadn't previously driven on the racing sim today - Bilster Berg. That is one crazy roller coaster of a track!!!

Trsnrtr 10-08-21 07:22 PM

Are we supposed to insert our own mileage on the east-west spreadsheet?

bampilot06 10-08-21 07:22 PM

eh calling for rain tomorrow. I don’t have a proper rain kit. My wind breakers are all water proof, but they trap heat.

Bugga, I don’t have anything to cover my shoes with either. Winter booties it is.

This is a lot of unfortunates for a short ride.

bampilot06 10-08-21 07:27 PM

took the wife test driving new cars today.

I learned that basically any brand car is going to cost me 10 thousand more than I wanted to spend.

And the used car version is going to cost even more.

Wife is not happy at the moment.

I really appreciate it. At least BBs are relatively cheap.

if it makes you feel better, I replaced my bb a couple months back and it’s already started creaking again when I climb hills.

edit: it can only go downhill from here…..

What everyone doesn't understand is I enjoy the mustard-pickle sandwich. It's been easy and no cramping!:bday::bday:

Velo Vol 10-08-21 07:40 PM

I have updated the standings going into the weekend, and the East Coasters have a solid lead. :bday:

543 - 307

gnome may have another 76 miles for the latter, but I couldn't see his activities to check for fake miles.

So how'd you find out about that, then?
