Chin helmet
HI,
I have a hard time wearing the standard bike helmet because my neck is very sensitive. Other than a large bulky motorcycle one, has anyone ever seen a bike helmet that straps on the chin? Amit |

If you strap your helmet around/over your chin to the point where it won't pop off in a crash, your mouth will be closed and your jaw completely shut. If you put slack in the strap to be able to open your mouth, you might as well loosen it up and let the strap hang below your jawbone and hope for the best.

I’m not following. ??? All the bicycle helmets I’ve ever used don’t come close to touching my neck. The strap buckles (tight or loosely) under my chin.

I guess its pretty much what straps you are used to. If you played sports then a "Cup" type chin strap would probably be most comfortable. For me a Mil-Spec split chin strap would be the ticket...

Beyond that bit of fun: function drives evolution. Football helmets: chin cups. Bicycle helmets: chin straps. |

My boss and I were just discussing it briefly on Thursday. If we had sane healthcare in the U.S. I could probably go now. No dependents and no debt. The great coverage I have through work is a tough nut to give up. And the 401k match is very good.

Dan I'm glad you have better luck, though. |

My old team was sponsored by Skid-Lid for a year or 2.
