What are the odds?

This may not be the right forum to share this but I need to share it somewhere.

We've all had the moments where we regret selling something. In my case, I sold this bike on local craigslist back in 2019:

I've been regretting it ever since and have been looking out for another one for years now. Ones with the Onda fork/frame rarely come along. One popped up on Facebook marketplace last week around 70 miles away. I just went down there, met with the seller, bought it. It had a very familiar looking set of scratches on it. When I came home, I pulled up the old photos (good thing I never get rid of anything) and they matched perfectly. Didn't hurt that I also had a BB photo showing the serial number. So, five years later, it's back with me. :)

Sellers remorse can be far worse than buyers IMO. :twitchy:

I think I'd buy my Serotta if I ever came across it again. But my wife would think I've gone one bike too far and I may not ride it all that much considering the fleet that I have now. Then again, the Club Special was a comfortable bike. I used to be able to ride it all day without feeling beat up. I couldn't do that now, but at least it has the geometry and build that could a be lively and comfortable.

I have the reciept, so I could verify it was the same frame.

Great story!

That's why I have 5 road bikes and 2 mountain bikes. Don't see the point in selling any unless for some reason they go for a large amount.

Great , hopefully you paid 2024 price , not 2019 price . The prices have fallen in the last 3-4 years. I guess the main thing is that you got the bike back!
