The Fuji it the big "4" "0"
Just wanted to celebrate one of my bike's turning 40! It could lose a little weight, but it is still in really good shape!

"Hit the big 4-0 today."
"Oh yeah? Happy birthday." "No, not me, one of my bikes." "One of your bikes had a birthday?" "Yeah, the big 4-0." "That makes sense, cuz I woulda pegged you at like 55." "What? Come on, man. I'm only 51. Jeez. A real friend you are..." |
Congrats! My oldest is just a couple years removed from being forty. I’m looking forward to saying, “Yep, it’s forty years old.”

My newest road bike (see signature) will turn 40 around the end of this year. The Capos are all past age 60, and the Carlton turns 60 sometime next year. The Passat wagon is now 20 years old, and I am keeping it as long as I reasonably can. The house turns 50 in about 3 years. I just replaced a 25-year-old gas range. The gas dryer is 20 years old. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it is broke, fix it and keep it.

Half my bikes are older than me by a few years. I just turned 33 last week and I'm already feeling I need a tune up before my bikes do lol

My oldest vintage bike is a '74 Raleigh International, and I've had it for 20 years. I'd say it is holding on to its youthful looks much better than I am!

Time to start looking forward to the next milestone... 50... 60?? :50:

She doesn't look a day over 39, cycleheimer. Just this week I acquired a 1981 Fuji America, which I am pretty excited about. By coincidence I have several bikes from 81.

My ‘49 Raleigh Clubman salutes that young feller.

I celebrated my Fuji's 40th by giving it a complete makeover.

Custom 1973 Holdsworth Super Mistral, a Christmas gift from my mom and dad. It underwent major plastic surgery last year.

My oldest is 47 now. Freebie Fuji Grand Tourer from last year in the coolest shade of green. The rest of the pack is in their mid 30s. Cool bike!
|
My oldest is 35, for it's 30th it received a 2x10 upgrade... Before it turns 40, I may repaint it. But nobody makes replacement graphics...

The bar wrap colors with white brake lever covers from a UO-8 may look mismatched, but they aren't.:thumb:
