Did you marry a younger or older gal?

My parents are just a few years older than my inlaws. My wife is the same age as my youngest sibling.

We're less than a year apart in age. But, I'm the oldest kid and she's the youngest.

I honestly don’t think I would go with another Cervelo. Not the biggest fan of my current one.

no, highly recommended it. Absolutely love the bike.

I'll be happy to give you a lift... if I'm not busy with family stuff, or workshop stuff, or if I'm not out riding, or I'm not sleeping. I mean, I've gotta have a good 5 or 6 hours per week that meet those conditions. :p

WhyFi 03-22-22 12:11 PM

Speaking of workshop stuff, after a month or so of feeling like I was on the cusp of starting the kitchen cabinets, but continually finding just one more thing that needed to be taken care of first, I've finally started the cabinets.

Got all of the carcass panels cut to size on Saturday. Got all of the dados cut on Sunday. Did some sanding and dry fittings yesterday. Picked up face frame and door materials today. I don't have enough room or clamps to get all four of the carcasses put together at the same time, so I'm hoping to get at least one glued and clamped per day.

I was feeling pretty good about my progress... and then I looked at the calendar. The target week for hanging them is less than two weeks away, sooooo yeah - I'll need to make steady progress.

How are you planning to finish them, stain, paint?

It's an ambitious project! Not one I could tackle with any confidence.

Luckily Portland had buttloads of non-pro CX events, so I got to race there a bit.

The uppers, which I'm working on now, will be painted. The lowers, Phase II, will be a darker wood finish.

It hasn't been a terribly difficult project, but there's been a bit of mental and physical organization to work through. I did build a little test cabinet a few weeks ago, and it gave me some insights on how I might make things easier on myself: order of operations/streamlining, how and where to give myself slightly larger margins to account for fudge factor, that sort of thing. Feeling like I've got a reasonably good handle on things, at this point.

Well she is in her mid-40s now with three kids, so unlikely.

Hah, not in her group. None of her friends have kids yet or are that old.

I've mentioned, and you may have seen the post, buy my daughter's fiancé's parents have a place in Mountain Village. She and her fiancé spend at least 4 to 6 weeks a year there since they both work remotely. Pretty nice place with 4 bedroom, two of which are "master suites."

Sounds nice! Need pics when finished.

Like I said, not a project I would be comfortable taking on!

There's a guy around here that races a cross bike with a rear rack. He does pretty well.
