Mostly Dura Ace- indexed shifting that works well, brakes, hubs, crank, etc.

You'd have to pay for the shipping. It's in excellent shape, but the bar tape is black now, and I have never been able to find brake lever rubbers that are specifically fitted to the early Dura Ace levers. So it has some Cane Creek hoods that seem to fit better than anything else I tried. I still ride it, but I have a lot of bikes, and my wife is getting anxious about it.

Beautiful bike. Too big for me. Too bad, I’ve always wanted a yellow bike. In fact, original my Zullo was to be refinished yellow but at the last minute changed to orange. Good luck with the sale, that’s a good price.

...I actually did that for a while, with a mountain bike up in Tahoe. But it was with her sister, who lives up there. So I could kiss that one goodbye if we split up. :(

...despite my best efforts, I can find no serial number for this frame. Nothing on the BB shell, or either dropout, nothing on the seat lug.
It's always been sort of mysterious in that regard, though obviously painted with the factory Imron they used, and pretty obviously not a counterfeit.

I have no explanation, unless it's on the steerer. I did drop the fork when I originally got the bike and serviced it. But I didn't look there at the time.
The seat post diameter is 27.2, so I presume it's one of their Columbus or Reynolds tubing frames. And it's definitely a 24" frame, by measure of the seat tube.

This year of Dura Ace is probably my favorite of all time, and I wish someone made hoods to fit those early levers. This is a good excuse to polish it up and ride it for a while. :)

I don’t think the absence of a serial number is unusual for the time period. As I understand, during the transition from Chicago made Paramounts to those produced in Waterford, there was some strange things going on. I heard that in the early years, the staff could build personal frames during the off hours. The practice was stopped when the ramp up for the 50th Anniversary Edition started. These weren’t part of the production system. It could be one of those.
Anyway, it’s a great bike! Hope you can keep it.

Most likely the serial number is buried in the paint on the left rear dropout and is in the Chicago format; two digit year, month letter code, and frame number made that month. My best guess is it is a late '84 or early '85. Look at the dropout and see if you can spot any indentations in the paint surface. Sometimes rubbing wax or polish on that area can enhance visibility. Beautiful bike and great price.

...I put it back in the riding lineup day before yesterday, so I'll look where you suggest. I'm hopeful, but not that hopeful. :) I figured about that date, from the component group, which appears original to the bike. I had forgotten how much fun this is to ride. Even the angriest of motorists seem to calm down a little when you're on a bright yellow bicycle.

Getting back to bikes, I've come across 3 of those 1980's Waterford Paramounts over the past few years. They all had Columbus frames. Too bad or good thing that they were too big for me....

Dang, this is weird! Seems like a Paramount of this quality would move quickly in your area. I have a 61cm, 84 Waterford Paramount FS in process. It came with a well worn Dura-Ace group. The FS has been powder coated & new decals installed. Even with a lot of replacement parts, it would never look as good as yours.

You may want to delete this post & create a new one with the price only in the body. Do you use Craig’s List? You might try your area as well as some of the SF locations.

What's the size C-T in cm? Do you know what the tubing is?

...Waterford was using Columbus tubing in those years. I'm uncertain which, SL or SLX, but my guess for a larger frame like this would be SL. It has no tubing sticker on the frame.
I measure c-c, so 24" c-c is probably gonna come out to about a 62, if you measure c-t. I can double check for you later, if I can find my metric tape.

Meanwhile, I continue to ride it and enjoy it. I thought I would give this place one more try, so I put up four relatively nice bikes at what I thought were pretty low prices, thinking it might encourage people by allowing some savings for shipping. I'd like for them to end up with someone who enjoys them, as have I. Thinking I'll need to suck it up and deal with the evil overlords at e-bay. It will be good discipline for me...I guess.:twitchy:
