this is a real pain scale. I live in 4-7 since last September. At least I'm still awesome. Which is nice. :thumb:

The moment park tool informs you, you need a special tool to take you crank arm off. You don’t have the special tool, and said special tool cost 15.00. SMH.

Looks like trek has the tool in stock so will pick it up tomorrow.

Park tool video shows just putting grease on the spindle, I am assuming I put grease on the bearings.

But my BB has the caps on either side, so I am not sure I will even see my bearings once I pull the arm.

I've got a colleague that rides with a group like that.

His ability to be out of the house before 5am consistently is big reason why he's fast and I'm not.

did everything but pull the cranks. Noise is still there.

Def. Louder when the right foot is pushing down, and the more force the louder it is.

Will investigate further tomorrow.

New stem height felt fine but I think I need a shorter stem now.

What kind of pedals do you have?

A thin film on the bearings is nice, just so they don't stick to other metal parts - you don't want to have to get out the torch to take things apart again in a couple years, after a bunch of rain rides.

I should've settled in front of the TV much earlier in the day.

Just put the brand new pair on, didn’t change anything.

That's what I was thinking of.

Was about to respond to VV's protest with "The Lizard King is always right!"

Depending on how hard-core you are, this might be of interest.

What special tool? Can you link a pic of the BB or the Park video?

There was a LeMond with a stuck seat post in the shop today.

Careful selection of parents helps quite a bit, too. :(

Not me personally, but yes. Penetrating oil, a little heat, time, and one of these.

I ask if pain present, is it mild, moderate, or severe. The 0-10 score might be useful in research but not in my daily practice.

datlas 07-17-21 04:43 AM

Time to ride!

bampilot06 07-17-21 05:18 AM

It is gross out. I was drenched in sweat just trying to get my Ritchey off the rack.
