Velo Vol 07-23-21 04:14 AM

ls01 07-23-21 04:22 AM

Had a good ride last night with the guys. Lots of suffering in 30 miles when done correctly.
So I have placed some blue painters tape inside the chainstays on Contador. This way if the wheel rubs it will mark the tape and then I will know if it still rubs.
I recently repacked the disk bikes B.B. But Still get the click click click, that I love so much. So yesterday, I removed the thread together Token bb and replaced it with a, of all things, Sram pf 30 Dub B.B. Eddie Mercx (sp) help me. I really don't like this Dub system of all proprietary spacers and parts. It's just to cutsey.. the spacers lock into little grooves on the bearing covers. Much too delicate looking. But time and mileage will tell. It's resting comfortably, maybe tonight..

must be nice, my pro ones are shot after about 2500 miles. Front tire currently has a tube patch on the inside.

trying to figure out what to try next

I remember watching a video a few months ago from NorCal Racing (or whatever) and he talked about looking at the gap between average power and NP to get a good idea of how smoothly you're riding (smaller gap = smoother). Even on longer rides, I'm ******g horrible by that metric.

Mine is usually about a 30w difference but I attribute that to hills

On long endurance rides, you're doing it right if average and nominal is within a couple watts. Same-same is ideal. That means there was no slacking, and the pedals were always turning.

Whenever I send my patients to the hospital/big healthcare system, I tell them to cue up Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine."

It is quite a dysfunctional machine and that's the best analogy I gots.

Got my new Kickr yesterday. Sucker weighs 55# in the box. Being a spindly arm old man, I barely got it moved to the training area in basement.

That is good but I think welcome to my nightmare is a better analogy.

I'm going to get Vittoria Corsa for the Allez next. 28mm. May have to go with tan sidewalls, if the black sidewalls don't become available soon.

So, workout # 1 is complete.

Yeah between the flywheel and the frame, those newfangled smart trainers are quite heavy.

There, I've said it.

I like the doors and don't do pandora. I have been thinking lately, that I should start listening to music again. John Prine is speaking to me

Do these Olympic games count?

seedsbelize 07-23-21 06:43 AM

For the first time in many years of flying internationally, I did not receive a note from homeland security in my checked bag(my bike).

I still have my 2016 Kickr box and this new one weighs a little over 1# less. :D

My wife has already claimed the new one.

Thought I'd give them a whirl. That blowout wouldn't have occurred had It had some sidewall protection. Some people love them. The other tire I could afford was ultrasport 3 and they have zero protection.
And, I'm riding hills here. A different animal. And I'm carrying a pannier and, sometimes, measurable weight.

Y'all are #blessed that I have 8am meetings on Fridays. And getting back to running. Would be up ~30mpw if it weren't for those two factors.

Doesn't usually seem to matter though. :innocent:

Wow, Bermuda had quite the outfits for the opening ceremonies.

No, these are tubeless, the Power Road TLRs. I've taken one big puncture, that needed a bacon strip plug, about 2.5k miles ago. Other than that, I haven't been slowed by a puncture.

There have been at least 3 countries with well oiled flag bearers so far...

Rain has been trashing most of my mornings the past three weeks and with my daughters in summer track and travel softball, I can't get out at night anymore. It's really hurt my mileage (but I'd never get to 250 regardless).
