Going from 7 miles/day to a Century (Part II)

So I have a potential 5 day weekend coming up. I would like to do a bigger ride, maybe a 25 mile loop. Is this too much of jump? Should I try to do a bigger ride every other day? I want to dedicate this big weekend to seeing what I am reasonably capable of.

Or should see how much time I can spend in the saddle, say, aim for three hours of straight cycling?

I see no reason not to tackle a 25 mile ride. Just do it. :thumb:

So what if I did a 25ish mile ride Saturday, rest day Sunday and knocked out another on Monday? Too close together??

I used to do 30 milers every weekend. Its just been like 3 years!! Only difference is, my daily commute is plenty hilly, so that must count for something, right?!

Just see how you feel after the first ride. Maybe you will be ready to go the next day or maybe you will want a day or two off. Drink plenty of water before during and after your ride(s) and eat healthly grub. This will help with recovery time.
