Sizes for parts to order for a 1 piece to a 3 piece crankset

Hello!
I’m trying to order the correct sized parts to convert my SixThreeZero (brand new) from a 1piece crankset to 3 with a 48t ring. I already changed the wheel to a free shell and installed a front break.
thanks!

Do you want BMX or MTB style 3 piece cranks?

I’m new to this so please excuse the beginner ignorance, I think MTB would be good. Does BCD matter?

Yes. BCD matters, but I think you can get about any BCD sprocket (chainwheel) if you shop around.

Are you OK with your crank arm length? If you desire to go with a longer crank arm, are you concerned about riding the bike aggressively off road and having the pedal strike the ground?

If all I wanted was taller or shorter gearing… The simplest, fastest, cheapest fix is the rear cog.

I’m going to stay with regular size cranks (170mm) this is going to be a street bike.

I went with the Truvativ American to Euro adapter kit and a 3 piece crankset by Origin 8 when I upgraded my Nirve cruiser a few years ago.
7 speed uses a 3/32 chain so all I needed was a 3/32 width sprocket with the correct 110mm BCD spacing.
