Well, I was dressed for work - canvas work pants, boots, t-shirt. So, no.

But my commute time was about the same as my full kit road bike ride time, with less effort.

Will it help prevent resin pads from glazing over? Or do I just have crappy rotors that make that happen?

I try to sand the pads with ~220 grit paper and hit the rotors with steel wool, then clean the rotors with mineral spirits. I can bed the pads and things work great for a while, then it seems like all of a sudden they start sounding like a pissed off Canada goose and lose most of their effectiveness. Haven't ridden my MTB in like a month or so because I just don't want to deal with it.

No, there are lawyers and other paperwork white-collar offices there. If you search the address you can see commercial lease listings for everything from fractional floors to blocks of four contiguous floors. We even had a couple of random sets of floors throughout.

I figured I would start a little repair job on my hoop house today but forgot that I need my chopsaw which is up in the attic workshop and which I am not in condition to drag It down at this time. Rats! Now I’ve got to find something even less strenuous. :foo: :crash:

Cook the contamination off your pads in a gas flame for 20-30 seconds. Has never failed for me...until I sweat on them or ride through an oily puddle again.

I have always been askared to try that, I'll give it a shot though.

My surgeon didn't even want me cutting the lawn on a riding mower, post-hernia.

The non-pyro method is to just hit everything with some brake clean and let it dry in the sunshine.

Probably a good idea to wear safety glasses in case they asplode, but I've never seen the smallest pop or spark.

I have the cheap Shimano brakes on my mtb and they rarely make any noise, only when the rear one gets really hot. I'd love to put some more powerful brakes on there maybe with some bigger rotors but really they work fine most of the time. When I ride it a lot I go through pads pretty quick but no noise.

Luckily I rarely get squeal on personal bikes. AZ sun and sand keeps the noise down.

I never bought into the gp4000 sII hype, because 1) cost and 2) sidewall problems. I finally bought a pair on close-out, and can see what the fuss was about with ride quality. This morning my front suffered a sidewall blowout with less than 100 miles on it. A tiny one, right at the edge of the tread. I'm gonna put a tube patch on it and see if I can get another 100 miles out of it.

Please put a boot in there, not just a patch? They are really good tires. But if your roads are crap you may need something more durable.
