Velo Vol 06-18-22 07:36 AM

Uh oh. MoAlpha's boat is headed the wrong way! Looks like they really could have used Velo Vol's help.

German engineering peaked in the late 90's. Japanese is still rolling forward. Hot take.

It's been so long since I did a real ride I forgot I would be hungry at the end. The app says 35.6 miles. Close enough. My 20 year old shorts are too big for me.:bday: How are these things sized? Waist size?

Honestly, I was thinking of my mom's workday. She was your age in the very early 60s. Sometimes these things just slip out. No harm intended.

Slow morning. Must be Saturday

Trying to help/stay out of the way while Mrs. GeneJockey gets ready for an impromptu trip to San Diego with an old friend and her sister. The sister just bought a puppy on the spur of the moment (she already has one dog), so Mrs. GJ is going down to SD with them for a week, to...... Well, that's not exactly clear.

Like the dog - what do you do if you catch it?

Bush II wiped out on a Segway that was standing still.

I felt compelled to educate the driver on the 3 foot rule. I donít think it got through though. Interestingly enough, after trying to vehicular man slaughter us, he made a big show of trying to pull a fire arm out once the rest of my group showed up. I never saw one, but that was def the point he was trying to make.

I should have let it go, but I was seeing red. It really pissed me off.

What do ya'll use for an under the back seat water bottle holder/mount?

I'm no tri-guy but it's 100+ degrees here and a 30+ mile ride might be 3 water bottles, not 2.

Convince me I don't need the water or give me a rec on what under the back seat water bottle holder is a good deal.

What you don't carry an extendable police baton with you when you ride? Oh wait, just Texas things. (literally OK to carry vis a vi our govenor's new rules put in place a few years back).

I would never suggest anyone underhydrate, but the other thing you can do is to identify water stops, where you can refill. My usual ride has one at 10 miles from home, a couple around 16 miles, another at about 25, then I pass the second set at about 40 miles, and the last one at 46 miles. But the last 10 miles, nothing. So I have to remember where to refill.

some additional options to under the seat include -

a third water bottle in jersey back pocket

a small fanny / waist pack that will hold a water bottle (or two)

Camelbak or similar

pull a small trailer loaded with a large jug of water lol
