Upgraded my antique cruisers sound system

The box on the handlebars is a 7 channel equalizer, with a Bluetooth receiver on top of it, switch by right grip is the air horns, below the box is switches for everything else. Yes the gator is real. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...722768b99b.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e65e2cd91d.jpg The white on the fins is 5630 LED strips, 10"/25.4cm single voice coil subs wired in parallel for 2ohms. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...62e6c91869.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...bfbc2f27bf.jpg The boards on top right to left are boost converter 12v to 40v, buck converter 12v to 3.3v, boost converter 12v to 24v, 600 watt amplifier, 2x100 watt amplifier, and a pair of two way crossovers. 6.5"/16.51cm speakers, 3"/7.62cm ferro fluid cooled tweeters. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b348908145.jpg I'll get a video of it all on here soon. |
Love the details!

I just wanna know if those rear facing woofers provide any thrust? :speedy:

Video as promised, when I turn it up a little you can hear my garage start jumping, sound demo is at the end, song is Medication by Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley ft. Stephen Marley, Youtube likes to screw with me, so I avoid it. https://photos.app.goo.gl/thfnxKjDdUBb1MPV6

Love the lights, creativity and technical skills...but stay outta my neighborhood with all that noise.:50:

I'd sit in your slip steam all day
Great creation

Bad ass. There's a guy around here with something similar. You can find him on IG under @fatbikebeats.

That’s cool! You’re welcome to roll through my ‘hood any time, and freak out the squares!

It is so nice!)

wow doesn't it add a bit much weight onto the bike though? seems like it may throw it off balance

The bike weighs about 125lbs/57kgs, so it does add a bit of weight, but as long as you keep the weight balanced, no problems.

My concept of a sound cart.
I haven't compiled it yet, but I know how to make high quality sound. This is the volume due to the paired subwoofers and the quality factor of the system due to the sand in the walls. Pairing a subwoofer with an acoustics due to a first order filter (single coil) at 120 hertz. The system can be made closed, without a phase inverter. Marine acoustics are taken for boats to work in the rain. For the transport you need a trolley, because the volume and weight of the system is impressive, as is the sound. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...391f8dc147.jpg Dual Marine Woofer https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...734b83b02e.jpg Marine Acoustic Speakers Coaxial 4 Pcs https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d6ab9b3ba2.jpg Marine Amplifier 1950 Watts https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...a2e8c6753d.jpg Marine Control Block https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...fb7afd7b3b.jpg This system is designed to break the leaders of car audio. Paired common mode subwoofers double the equivalent volume! If, for example, the volume of a bicycle music box is 200 liters, then the equivalent volume is 400 liters! And the efficiency of the speaker system and the level of extracted low frequencies depend on the volume of the box. The use of sand in the walls of the music box body allows the system to be coherent, without standing sound waves inside the box. This can be said to be a concrete or brick music box. Light liquid rattling ass-boxes on the trunk do not stand up to criticism, no matter how hard you try to strengthen these boxes, their weight can no longer be made more than 50 kg! Even without listening to your homemade system, I know that it sounds bad, albeit loud. A good acoustics system should knock you over inside your head, knock you down the vestibule apparatus, and knock you off your feet at low volume. And since my system is not intended for closed rooms, but works in open space, it must have the characteristic of a point radiation (in the form of a ball). This is facilitated by the construction of the system in the form of a surround quadraphonics. |
please make a video of this bike! it looks sooo cool!

In the "concept of a sound cart," your forgot the Freon and compressor. Won't be able to sell any ice cream without those.

Cycle music box information is out of date and BOSS Marine MR105 subwoofer is no longer in production.
For the latest marine subwoofers, I have not found Tille-Small data, so I will show you a non-marine version of the subwoofer. This is Subwoofer ACV SPL SHOW 1500W RMS STEIN S12D2, with electrical quality Qes 0,461 https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c99a37c964.jpg Now let's talk about the volumes and the method of pairing subwoofers. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...4109c8159c.jpg For high quality loudspeakers, it is recommended to double the drivers in a "diffuser-to-diffuser" type, and only for reproducing low frequencies. This option effectively suppresses all types of distortion, especially even harmonics, which cause perceptible harmonic distortion. Since the effective area of the diffuser is two times less, and the mass of the moving system is twice as large, the calculated equivalent volume will be twice as large. One of the options for writing the formula for calculating the efficiency of an electrodynamic converter looks like this: https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...de838d3e0c.jpg Fs is the natural resonance frequency of the head frequency (Hz), Vas - equivalent air volume (m3), Qes - electrical quality factor of the head, c- speed of sound in air (334 m / s). The relationship between efficiency and SPL sensitivity is expressed by the formula: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...21fa364454.jpg If you set a sensitivity of 100 dB and a lower cutoff frequency of 16 Hz, then using the formula you can make graphs of the Q-factor of the head 0.2 ... 0.6 and boxes with a volume of 1 ... 5 cubic meters, which have no practical benefit. On the basis of practical tests of subwoofers, real tables of the dependence of the volume of the box and the electrical Q-factor of the head were derived with the highest estimate of the shape of the low-frequency characteristic with uneven frequency response less than 2 dB in the range 25 ... 100 Hz: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...2df9f5709f.jpg Thus, if a bicycle music box has a volume of 200 liters, then a Vas system with paired subwoofers will be 400 liters. We find the sensitivity of our box with Vas = 400 liters and Qes = 0.461 Subwoofer ACV according to the table: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c5be8e7ba7.jpg The sensitivity of the musical bicycle trolley is 103db !!! 103db!!! Not sound pressure, but sensitivity! |

Ice cream cannot be sold. Buyers will simply be blown away by a sound wave. While they are eating ice cream, their eardrums in their ears will burst. |
I haven't told the story of filters yet. First order passive filters.
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...e9149c033a.jpg This is how it looks in nature. Cutoff frequency 120 Hz, weight 2 kg: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...044ba0b133.jpg First-order filters have much less impact on pulse transmission than higher-order filters. Accordingly, the attack, timbres, joints are much cleaner. With a sharp voltage supply to the coil, the current strength does not also tend to increase sharply, but increases gradually, to be more precise, exponentially. With decreasing frequency, the current through the coil increases. This means that the lower frequencies are transferred through the coil better |
That is awesome!
