My wife came to me one day and said, how can I have my camera not work, so once her meeting started, I was standing behind the laptop camera and pressed the electric tape over it. My wife went through all the hey what happen, etc, then told them she was going on mute and go get me since I have an IT background, muted, went and made some hot tea, came back and told her it looks like the camera died according to me. Her boss sent her a USB based camera....

pre-record footage & have it play on a tablet that's in the camera's view..

Just make sure to do a few different recordings using different shirts.

Unfortunately, she makes everyone participate, and is just a pain, so that would be next to impossible.

Installed a new bottom bracket and crank this morning and finally managed to get rid of the ticking noise from the crank area that had been driving me nuts for the past few weeks.

Yesterday 10km with the hybrid who will get an upgrade next month

Another 30ish. Don't know exactly because my phone died suddenly when I thought it had over 50% charge. I knew they don't like cold, this was a shocker.

I did see albino squirrel, again. Anyone know how rare are these?

cegerer 11-11-23 11:42 AM

32 miles this morning. One of those days when the legs were just not there. Frustrating. No real reason I can think of. Last 10 miles or so I felt great ....

jaxgtr 11-11-23 07:17 PM

Had to take my wife to St Augustine this afternoon, so just did a quick 21 miles today. Wind was awful, so I am glad she asked me to drive her to St. Augustine

Troul 11-11-23 07:39 PM

wind was up here too... headwind. 36 miles, 28*F.

Wind was bad here too plus thundershowers but managed 21 miles and 800 climbing at 189 watts

(indoors)

Ok, I feel like I was just lazy now....thanks. :D

Troul 11-12-23 10:27 AM

The display showed a real-time temp of 23F during today's 55 mile ride. Winds weren't blowing hard like the previous ride.

thickish baselayer with a winter insulated shell jacket/jersey, full length bibs, generic thinsulate gloves, wool socks.

Sierra_rider 11-12-23 05:31 PM

Wind was pretty gusty here as well, but I actually liked the wind for a change. Only because all the gnats/tsetse fly things are out in force right now and the wind keeps up out of my face when I'm climbing.

As far as today's ride...gravel ride of 4ish hours, 49 miles, 7100' of elevation gain, and 1 aspirated gnat.

Got a heat wave going here in Nov. It was a whole 8C and sunny today. So about 2:30 I went along and over the river.
11.12 miles on 11.12. 2023. LOL.
Lots of others out as well.
After a snow and cold and week the end of Oct., the grass is actually growing again. Once every 30 years we get a green Christmas. Maybe now.

jadmt 11-12-23 08:51 PM

got in 40 miles which is pretty good for November in Montana.

One word for you, Manimal

rsbob 11-12-23 11:00 PM

Totally non-humble brag:

Yesterday, 21 fake miles at 190 Watts, climbing 995’ fake feet in Scotland. (Great course though)

Today, 20 real miles at unknown wattage, but that will be fixed next week, climbing a pathetic 560’ but managed a 5th place overall crown on a 5.89 mile segment where I managed to somehow maintain 28.5 MPH for 2 miles (on the flats, thank you very much). Being aged and decrepit, winning any kind of Strava crown (except by forgetting to turn it off and driving my car) is remarkable. Think I will have it engraved on my headstone, but I have my sights set on a short sprint….

Did I mention I had a tail-wind?

those that can spin up the miles on an indoor trainer are more dedicated to the exercise than I. That dedication tells me that they have the ability to do 20 years in solitary confinement without phase. :p

LOL... I did 9 months off the Lebanese coast on the USS Kennedy in 1982 with only 1 liberty port call, does that count?

jadmt 11-13-23 04:24 PM

43 miles 40F and windy but I will take this kind of weather in November in Montana any day.

I hope that the fake weather was great too!! :) lol

Just a measly little 14 miles and 2500' of singletrack on the XC bike.

More faking it today. 20 miles worth. Yawn. About 68* with a prevailing headwind. Need to open more windows

For something different, am picking off the individual routes in Zwifts worlds. Will be interesting when I get down to the big climbing routes.

jaxgtr 11-14-23 05:01 AM

I had 23 miles and 2800 ft on Rouvy yesterday. Temps were nice, and had the wind sort of cross tailwind and cross headwind but it did not seem to impact my performance.

Sierra_rider 11-14-23 03:14 PM

I did the flattest 2 hour route, that I can do from my house, this morning. Only 36 miles and 3000' of gain.

jadmt 11-14-23 03:30 PM

32F this morning so a bit chilly...but still getting 40 miles in in November is pretty awesome altho my feet going to take a while to warm up. I have good neighbor who does not mind the cold either.

Two days ago started riding indoor with Zwift, such a nice experience! Covered 40 km for two days in a row easily, this fake riding is very entertaining. Previously I was riding on indoor trainer with only some podcasts or TV series, but the time would go very slowly. Now with this interactive game time flies :)

Highly recommend for everybody riding indoor!

Troul 11-15-23 10:29 AM

30 miles as temps varied from 34 to 26F... lake is struggling to hold the heat...
