What's your mix of solo/group looking like compared to last year? Maybe you're better at surfin' wheels? Or maybe you're just more aero?
I'm finally starting to feel like I'm approaching the shape that I was in last year. Like you, my eFTP is about where it was in the Spring, but I've been feeling much better during hard efforts and it may just be that I haven't had the opportunity to really uncork it for an uninterrupted 3+ minutes. |

Hilly gravel hurts me, if I were to do something like that, I'd probably replace my 50/34 with a 46/30, but it does look fun.

Revolt has a 48/32, which is fine for this. I'm still trying to get my fit dialed in on it, I can't seem to maintain similar power #s as the R3 and it makes no sense to me.

Hard to rule out and I am hanging longer on the fast rides, but I think my solo work (ahem) has also improved and I'm also feeling subjectively stronger. I don't know what it is about those 3 min max efforts, though. I just don't seem to be doing them. All of the > 3 min hills nearby have flat spots where I find it nearly impossible to maintain power.

You have a PM on the Giant, too? How far off are we talkin'?
We're talking a 10-20w average difference |

Ah - significant, but not huge. It could be a tiny fit difference, but I wouldn't be surprised if it just came down to riding conditions. I know that I'm not as confident sending it on gravel as I am on pavement; in to and out of corners/curves are always a little more conservative. Also, circling back to gearing, standing going uphill isn't an option, either.

Maybe more than that, usually my NP on the Revolt is in the 200W range where today on the R3 it was 250ish. It's not even just gravel, I ride the revolt a lot when it's wet or threatening to rain and try to push just as hard. In rollers or on the flats I just can't hold the power the same without my quads bugging me and sometimes my knees. Honestly think I need the front end a little lower and the saddle down a touch.

I saw an article that said "Vaccine resisters can’t be persuaded if they feel disrespected". So, you can't convince somebody who has taken an irrational position unless you respect that irrational position?

Oh, okay. Yeah, that'll do it. My saddle-to-pedals on the Haanjo isn't quite the same as on the R3, and I am more prone to knee discomfort on the Haanjo, but I don't have a PM on the Haanjo to compare. I haven't checked the saddle setback, but I suspect that there's a difference in ST angle between the two. That said, I'd still want my front end a little higher on the gravel bike vs the roadie.

what should the chain rings be torqued too. So far pedals are not the issue. Went to fighting the head set and remembered I wanted to remove the last spacer. Was in the process of that when I got called for daddy duties. The way today is going looks like I will be on The Ritchey tomorrow.
Whyfi, I have a new route kind of figured out. Plan on trying it tomorrow to see how it goes. I did a big part of it today. Most of it is back country roads where traffic is minimal. Keeps us north east for the most part. Eventually would like to take it in to west point. |

I never would have thought that it would make such a difference, but I've never been able to get as comfy on 175s as I have since moving to 172.5s. Totally dumb, but there it is.

Might need some cataclysmic event to get the anti-vaxxers off their stupid platform. I know plenty, and their reasons just don't make sense. Of course, nobody likes to be magnetized. |
I went for a little ride this morning and experienced the heartbreak of chainsuck. The chain got stuck on the big ring and slammed into the chainstay causing an abrupt halt to my cadence. I had to stop and use a convenient piece of trash to dislodge it.
Let's see: New Campagnolo rings $$$$, chain $$, cassette $$ if I can even find the stuff. Just dropped $350 at the dentist yesterday and $300 there last month. Teeth, amiright? Maybe I should get a job? |

Need some advice.
The clicking noise that I experienced with the C2 on hills (low cadence high torque) has developed into a constant knocking noise at all times. Reminds me of an engine with a bent piston rod. I had to get out of the saddle today to charge up a tiny mountain and for the rest of the ride the knocking got worse. I stopped multiple times to make sure nothing felt loose (crank arm, seat, pedals, rear wheel, bars etc…..) Everything felt tight with two exceptions. I am running the old pedals and they have more play than my new pedals. Have always been this way though. And my headset developed a tiny amount of play during the ride. My plan is to re torque everything down, and swap pedals but if that doesn’t solve the noise any recommendations? Thanks. |
