Recommend shoes with good ventilation

Budget $200. My feet get hot and sweaty so I think I need vents in the sole. I have a decade old set of Forte (performance bike) low end shoes with good ventilation that I love but are on their last legs

Shimano SH-SD501, they run about $100. Won’t get more ventilation than this!

Look into triathlon shoes. Vents for draining water and drying feet.

My Scott Road Pro shoes have mesh fabric uppers, other than where support is needed and provided by faux-leather. And generous metal mesh vents in the soles.

The original insoles were also vented but I replaced those with ProFoot Miracle insoles, which aren't vented. I figured I could poke holes in the insoles if necessary but the shoes have been comfortable in Texas summers for three years.

They're so well vented I had to use thermal shoe covers in cooler weather and sometimes added Mylar toe covers or foil inside the shoes.

That particular model was discontinued and I can't vouch for the current Scott shoes.

But I'm not a good judge of shoes that feel cool in hot weather. My feet never feel hot. I also wear Fizik Tempo, which have full leatherette uppers and tiny vent holes that do little or nothing, with no sole vents. But those are still comfortable to me in summer, and in winter. They just don't fit my narrow feet with high arches as well as the Scott shoes.

A year ago I bought the Giro Empire knit shoe specifically for the southern heat/humidity and they flow a lot of air. And they're comfortable as hell.
