Maybe you should try not being serious

If I brought a broken spoke to your "quick fix" department, how long would I have to wait? Two hours?
Just the spoke? We have a lot of spokes, so it depends.

Except for when you were in East Tennessee. :bday:

LBS shop called!!!!!

They do not have the tool to pull it. Tool is on its way but won’t be ready today.

And how long did it take them to realize this and think of telling you?

No. I get texts as pages now. But the old expression still lives. Getting paged WAY too many times today. Sad.

@datlas I don’t know if I mentioned it (I’m old), but I have a new GP or family doc or whatever we call you guys theses days. Anyway, I really like the guy. He’s informative, yet not too detailed, and he gives me choices and a feeling that I’m part of my treatment. He’s relatively young but already impressed me with the depth of his knowledge/experience. I hope he stays around and doesn’t move away like my last doc.

I just installed the new set of tires on the Allez. 10 minutes, from old tires on bike and new tires in boxes to old tires in trash and new tires on bike. I did not rush.

Chill even when one of those animals is trying to eat you.

Kudos. It’s good to have a physician-patient alliance. The old paternalistic model is going away.

Just finished a round of synchronized pool floating, and may have set a WR for slowest 11 meter breast stroke. I’m beat.

I got sent down a little pelican... rabbit hole?... on YouTube a little while back. They can be shockingly aggressive when it comes to eating. Lots of clips of them snatching ducklings, swallowing full grown pigeons, penguin chicks, etc. :twitchy:

The repeated attempts, even after it's clear that the capybara just won't fit remind me of Rango playing bitey face with Dory when she was little - he could almost put all of her in his alligator mouth.

My gizmos tell me I have to engulf about 4900 calories to make up for today’s energy expenditures. Not happening and this, I tell myself, is why I don’t ride the big distances.

Perhaps if I ate a capybara…

DougRNS 07-31-21 03:07 PM

Just got back from lunch. Had chicken and waffles. Yummy. Now a 20 min power nap and more mowing!

My last doctor was young, also, and she was OK, but I never really felt like she was giving 100%. My doc prior was my doc for 35 years and I'd have to say he was more the paternalistic type that you described but he seemed very competent and on the ball. We had a very good relationship and I really missed him when he retired. I've seen the new guy twice for check ups and once for an injury and I'm pretty comfortable with him so far.

DougRNS 07-31-21 04:45 PM

Take 2 of day 2 mowing. 25 minutes and crapped out. Got the front down to appropriate height except for a small section reasonably far from sight. Will do the back tomorrow weather permitting and hope like hell I have enough battery in reserve to finish the small front patch.

Secret weapon? I've attached the side discharge and abandoned the mulch option. That might put me over the top.

Side note:

Tomorrow marks one year when the following happened and started me down the sciatica trail of pain.

Or a pelican.

Worst time to realize you've lost track of your can of PB Blaster? When you're wanting to work on a 60 year old boat trailer.

Wait - so PB Blaster is not like Easy Cheese, but for peanut butter? That's disappointing.

Those Vittorias are plush. Also, the Franklins are in town for their annual meetup.

I'm loving the combo of 25mm Vittoria Corsas and Columbus SL in the Schwinn Circuit. Plush and fast. I may reconsider my preference for Contis.

Disappointing indeed - pretty runny and tastes funny.

I found the can, crusty taillight hardware removed, fresh taillights installed, now just need to run the wires...
