Recycle them.
I had a stash of magazines under my bed when I was a teenager. :innocent: |
Donate to your local library.

Scan them. 😀

+1 on recycle them.
It hurts? Look carefully at the tables of contents for two years of a given magazine. The last issue seems like you've seen it before? You have! So instead of, say, 10 -15 years of magazines, you're giving up two years' worth. Now look again; are they reusing the same adjectives to describe the latest and greatest? Now you figure out that there's only about 3-6 months of content, and the rest is recycled already -- only on how they're trying to sell the latest bikes. If, after all that, you miss something, you can hit the newsstand for the next few months to restock. |

I would love to see old content like that, the old ads and such are always fun. Obviously though it can take a lot of work to scan all of that stuff but it is cool and sometimes provides useful insight in the past.

BITD, let’s say 1970 the boss at the LBS gave me a box of cycling magazines. This included some issues of American Cycling, and Bicycling. I wish I had those still. But along the way they disappeared. But I remember some of the articles, like the guy riding around the world who while in Asia somewhere found that putting the local round flat bread on his arm made an admirable sail and convenient snacking too. Or the races in Nevada City that I never got to see, or tales from the impossibly exotic Tour de France and Jacques Anquetil. Riding a bike (Peugeot) remarkably similar to the one I later bought. And the TOSRV which still goes on every year.
Whatever you do, don’t throw away those magazines. You will regret it! |

Don't just chuck them in the recycling!
Donate them to charity shops, probably spread them out around a number of local shops. I'm sure there's people out there who will buy a few. :) |

I did start to see the same things…I love old road bikes, the newest doesn’t always appeal to me…I liked to read about them…but I was never convinced/seduced sufficiently to move out of my favored era… |
I remember Bike World used to have some good articles. I never liked Bicycling from the time that it started up.
|
I tried to like Bicycling, couldn’t wait to get through it. Conversely, I hated to see the, Road Bike Action, the end is near pages..,
|
From about '92-'99 I subscribed to every single mountain bike magazine in the US. That was in my drinking days and every evening I would drink a 6 pack of beer and read the magazines with my stereo blasting. I kept all of them in boxes. I also had a bunch of road bike magazines. In the early 2000's when I moved I made one of the biggest mistakes of my cycling life and threw them away.
I also had a ton of bike shop mail order catalogs I would get in the mail. I wish I had kept them as well. |

Solvin’ all my problems…well magazine problems… Best lessons, hardest learned! |
Oh, I thought you might have some spare Security 9s or a few of the ubiquitous Glock mags. I don’t feel like I can afford a 30 round Glock mag on a retirement income, so if you got one to sell cheap I’m your man…. oops, I meant to say I’ll be your Huckleberry.
|
Just to let all interested in the mag's know, this is what I learned today from billnuke1
Ruh. Roh…Couple’a days too late…they are gone! Almost forgotten! |

" Nope! I did it! Very cathartic! I saved the oldest magazines! I’ll live! No regrets! " It was not clear to me. No worries, it should be now clear to all ? |
Wasn’t worried… trying to move on…please.
