Headed home from Alabama. Hope I-24 through Nashville isn’t a parking lot like on the way down.

I'm aware. Do you really check the sticker that often, or does it fall from your mind when you don't have to do it for a while? I doubt most do. Ah well, borrowing AG's car for the race this morning and then just taking it for inspection first thing Monday.

The sticker dates are just in my head. It’s one of those things. Mine is May, wife’s is July, Jeep is December, and son’s is December.

We do let them slip from time to time.

From what I have been told, some bikes need to have pressure on the chain stays in order to get the axle to thread. Seems off to me, but the manager swears his bike is the same way. He has the exact same year and model frame.

Mine requires doing so, but I can easily do it myself.

Some real knuckleheads in our world.

So it's a KOM hunting day, then? :innocent:

I was hoping to do the climbing ride through the local mountains today but the forecast is for north winds 25-30 mph. The 25 mile climb section would be brutal with a stiff headwind. Friends have asked me to join them for a remote start ride where there is less wind.

Finally home.

We decided to hang out yesterday for a few hours before hitting the road. It was a really nice day- went to the Jamestowne historic site (not the re-creation) and also spent a couple of hours walking around Colonial Williamsburg before heading home. The kids really loved both.

All of the days we went to the amusement park there were minimal waits for every ride. My wife and oldest did every coaster multiple 3-4 times each day.

The ride home last night was 10 hours. There was a ton of traffic through the Hampton Roads area and NJ, but it was a beautiful clear day when we went over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Got home at 1:00AM.

Hopefully will get some bike time today.

Yes it does, just ask my wife.

When we had our sailboat, I’d ask my wife to point it into the wind so I could raise the sails. Her response was that she couldn’t because the wind was all around us.

Oh, ok, so the stays are acting to narrow making it a fight to get the wheel in. That makes sense.

I briefly thought of 9000, but I realized I'd be paying a big premium for diminishing returns. AND coming by R8000 bits is a lot easier. Ideally, what I'll end up with is a bike that's just like the current one, but with gears enough to do some climbing.

I like it! I have a buddy with R8k and he loves it. I am very happy with 11 speed. It's plenty of gearing and the cost isn't bad. I think that you have a solid plan. I approve!

You would think so would ya. I ride on Belll Isle in Detroit. The road goes around the outside perimeter of the island. Not only does it feel like a headwind all the way around that bloody thing but it doesn't get any better if you stop and go the other way!

Sore... but no worse than my right achilles. Everything is still weak from not running as much as I'd like, even just for 5k training. The only time the hip really hurt was whenever I'd take a lazy stride and come straight down onto it instead of letting my leg act as a spring like it should.

It is now Xbox time. The new Lego Star Wars is great. Can't wait until Marvel is made.

Little Girl's cough is still rough, so we took her to the doctor's office and - ta da! - she's got pneumonia.
