Y'all are making me question my life choices.

I went to check the paint can... and there's paint covering the front of the paint can, so I don't know for sure. :o I think that it's Benjamin Moore Advance, either Semi- or High-Gloss.

That's a nice, carbon, 105 bike every two months. Ouch.

Too late for you. At this stage of your life, I advise semi-retirement. Work half-time and ride/play with bikes half-time.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry at the impossibility of that.

Interesting choice of alternative monetary units.

Bummer. It's my goal, and I am hoping it's possible soon.

I could even fully retire now, but mrs datlas is not a fan of living in squalor.

WhyFi 04-08-22 02:39 PM

Anybody use those LED ribbons under their cabinets? I'm wondering how effective they are as task lighting... :foo:

Squalor? Isn't that just down the road from Penury? Or, given where you live, perhaps "Pennury". ;)

Not ribbons, but LED under cabinet fixtures. Works for task and aesthetic lighting.

College was cake. If you have daughters, itíll be the wedding cost that does you in.

We have a daughter getting married later in the year, and the cost is approaching the total cost of her four years as an undergrad. ☹️

I question mine while you question yours.

Not for me. All the other training though. If anyone ever makes a tri where I can be on a trainer in transition I am all over it.

Makes for much less maintenance though. The S1 doesn't even have brakes anymore.

Yeah, we had some halogen fixtures and had planned on going with LED of similar form factor, but going lower profile is appealing.

Winds in the 30s to 40s again today, so hiking activity completed. It was nice at river level out of the wind.

Ouch. I though my child support was bad at 1k a month. still, I've only got another 8 years of child support to go. maybe I can buy a new bike when that stops.

One thing we learned about LED fixtures is that LEDs lose brightness over time. We replaced a halogen fixture in the kitchen with an LED one. A few years later, we realize the light from it has grown quite dim. We go back to the store we bought it from and ask about replacements for the LED elements. "Not replaceable", they tell us, but we can buy the whole unit again. So we went to a different store and scratched that one off our list of Places To Shop, because really, a lighting store should friggin' TELL YOU that the fixture you're buying will need to be replaced.

SO, make sure any fixtures you spend significant scratch on have replaceable elements.

a friend of mine did remind under the uppers and under the toe kicks on the lowers. They can be programed to change colors and pulsate. It's pretty cool. I believe it's on a motion detector also so it comes on automaticly.
