If I had kept the bug, or the Citroen DSuper and done them up It would have cost the same as the multitude of old cars I've owned and I've have a nice appreciating asset.
But most the old cars were fun. At least until cost of repairs got too much. Then I'd buy another older car. rinse, repeat. I'm a slow learner.

I had a 1956 VW Beetle. A friend wrecked it. There were a lot of old cars I wish I could still have but I don't get too emotionally involved. It's even less emotional with bikes, I don't get attached to them at all and I don't wish I still had any of my old bikes.

My first car was a college graduation present, a '73 Olds Cutlass Supreme, 350 Rocket V8. That baby could boogie.

I had a Super Beetle between the TR and the Acura.

I would guess there are people at the ranger's station. I would guess it has air conditioners and could be a life saver in those temperatures. Hopefully there are cars there to get out. I don't think one could walk to another place. What if the power went out?

Probably my favorite year. I loved the way the taillights were inset to the body, and how the rear bumper fit the body lines.

I had one, but it was a darker blue. I had more fun in that car than any others. I put "Prowler eliminator" tires on the stock wheels. Those tires were very square giving maybe twice as much tread on the ground and had stiff sidewalls. It handled like a Porsche.
I spent a lot of time going sideways, especially in the snow. Could almost drive the whole time sideways in the snow. Especially on a crowned road.

Note to Velo Vol
the 2 eastern Tennessee metro areas are free of rain right now.

Probably because it was almost a Porsche.

I'm deeply considering selling the R3, getting Rival etap and road wheels on the revolt and having a single bike. Someone talk me out of it.

I like my gravel bike, but there's no way I'd get rid of my R2 for it. A Cayenne still ain't a 911. The R2 is lively and nimble and playful around handling courses while the gravel is a stable Cadillac for soaking up miles of terrible roads.

That said, I wish it were a Caledonia now, but still.

I, OTOH, still have all my old bikes. ;)

I've never been there, but I don't think there's much to walk to.

it's just one of the many benefits of knowing me. Just think of all the quality music content I've directed your way. Plus I keep you updated on all things KSU. (Mighty Owls)

You'll appreciate this classic.

Went on an 8 mile hike on a trail along the Delaware canal. Lots of serious and not-so-serious cyclists were seen. I even saw a few e-bike fat bikes.

I, for one, appreciate your efforts in keeping us apprised of the weather in Tennessee.

Sometimes I keep a light in the window...
