I bought this at an estate sale, obviously been in the garage for many years. I wanted the Ideale leather saddle for another bike. I do have a seatpost. Serial number on a metal plate is 1874007, which could mean 1971. It’s a large 25”
frame. Appears to have mostly original equipment, including dry rot tires. Paint is very good and so are decals. I hosed off the gross dirt but have done no deep cleaning.
what model is it?
what would it sell for as you see it?
Thanks

Looks like a U08.
Basic, entry level Peugeot from the 70's of which thousands were made. = minimal value, maybe $75 bucks or just about a hundred bucks for a mint one.
They are good riding bikes if set up correctly. Just spec'd out with mediocre quality components and cheapest qualty tubing.

Pretty sure its a mid 70's AO-8 bottom end model for Pug in current shape missing parts a none rider as is $75 or so value.

.
...if you took off an Ideale saddle, you already got everything off that bike worth saving. I couldn't sell it in that condition for more than 10 or 15 bucks, assuming I could sell it at all. the large frame size doesn't help, but I guess people are always looking for donor bikes for old Peugeot projects. I guess it's worth $50 in parts for someone doing one of those.

I paid $50 for one complete and original, including alloy pump, in that size last year. Also, hate to be the one to say it, but from the first pic, the fork looks slightly bent at the crown. Could just be the pic angle.

As-is....$15.00

Fork is bent
Rims are steel
Spokes are galvanized
Tires are toast
Threading of headset, bottom bracket, crank, pedals, rear hub, freewheel are French

You got your saddle, be happy about that. Just pass the rest along to an enthusiast who will appreciate it

UO8 due to chrome fork socks. AO8 didn't have chrome socks. Bottom end, needs a lot of love. Has those crappy plastic derailleurs. +10 Bent fork.

I'd save the Mafac brakes (calipers and levers), the Simplex skewers and the French headset, and then move on. That plus the Ideale saddle and you probably got a nice return on this purchase!

To those not aware, the Simplex skewers have some value.

The Mafac racer brakes look to be in nice shape and have some value (maybe $20-$30); the rest of the bike not so much.

Quick follow up , I took the advice I received from the members here. I stripped the ‘good’ stuff
and put the rest in the alley for scavengers.
